Job Description

Atwell is seeking an experienced Civil Project Manager to serve as a technical leader and subject matter expert in residential and commercial land development projects. In this role, you will manage diverse projects varying in size, scope, and complexity while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions. Project Leadership & Management
  • Lead project teams in the preparation, review, and delivery of preliminary and final site plans, engineering designs, and construction documents.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, quality control, and client expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare technical reports, recommendations, and project analyses to support successful project execution.
Technical Expertise
  • Review and evaluate survey data, existing site conditions, and development constraints, including legal descriptions, ALTA surveys, easement documents, condominium documents, and related records.
  • Prepare and oversee engineering analyses and design documentation, including:
    • Hydrologic and hydraulic studies
    • Due diligence and site feasibility reports
    • Engineer's opinions of probable construction costs
    • Utility system calculations
    • Detention and retention pond design calculations
    • Stormwater management reports
    • Storm sewer design reports
    • Earthwork and volume calculations
    • Preliminary and final grading plans
    • Local, state, and regulatory permit applications
    • StormCAD and WaterCAD modeling and analysis
Team Development & Construction Support
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical direction to junior engineers and designers.
  • Coordinate construction-related services, including permit applications, quantity estimates, cut sheets, transmittals, and construction documentation.
  • Oversee the organization and preparation of site plans, construction plans, and complete construction drawing packages.
Software & Design Tools
  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and other engineering software to prepare designs and deliverables efficiently and accurately.
  • Ensure all assignments are completed on schedule and in accordance with company standards, client requirements, and project budgets.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • 10+ years of experience in civil engineering and land development.
  • Strong knowledge of site development design, permitting, and construction documentation.
  • Proven ability to manage projects, mentor staff, and maintain client relationships.
