Description
We're looking for a Land Development Division Lead to join the HMB team! We need a leader to oversee business development, fee proposals, assist design staff to complete projects ensuring guidelines and guide junior staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the point of contact for the Land Development group
  • Lead the business development effort for Land Development market
  • Lead the operations and production efforts
  • Coordination with other Land Development staff companywide
  • Hire local staff to support the market
  • Manage projects and client relationships
  • Development of project work plan and scope of work
  • Prepare fee proposals and track and manage project budgets and invoicing
  • Prepare roadway, grading, drainage, water, and sewer plans using AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • Produce project deliverables including technical memoranda, design plans and specifications, and technical reports
  • Administer quality assurance for project deliverables
  • Prepare supporting calculations, cost estimates, construction specifications, and permitting in various jurisdictions
  • Maintain effective communications with clients and project teams
  • Construction Observation and Coordination with Construction Contractors
  • Ensure that the staff resources are deployed in a productive and profitable manner
  • Conduct regular meetings to ensure that project needs are balanced with staff availability

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • BS or MS in Civil Engineering
  • Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer
  • Experience in Leadership, Business Development, Client Management, Project Management & Production
  • 10+ years of professional experience in Land Development
  • Possess a proven history of meeting project deadlines and budgets
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with clients, staff, and management
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills
  • A desire to grow personally and professionally with each project while working in a team environment to create designs and drawings supporting our client's overall project goal
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, and other applicable software common to the field of Land Development
  • Hydraulics and traffic experience is a plus
  • Ability to guide junior staff as well as participate in the design and detailing of structural design projects
  • Ability and willingness to assist with interdisciplinary projects outside of Land Development
