Civil Site Designer II (Civil Engineering / Land Development / Site Development Designer)

Join our growing Civil Site and Land Development team as a Civil Site Designer II. This opportunity is ideal for candidates with backgrounds in civil engineering, land development, site design, municipal engineering, or water resources who are eager to contribute to impactful projects and grow their technical expertise.

In this role, you will collaborate with experienced engineers and designers on a variety of land development projects, performing engineering analyses, developing designs, and preparing supporting calculations and documentation. You will also coordinate the drafting of project elements for a diverse client base while gaining hands-on experience in site layout, utilities, grading, and stormwater design.

Candidates with experience or interest in roles such as Site Development Designer, Land Development Engineer, Civil Designer, Municipal Engineer or Site Civil Engineer are encouraged to apply. Recent graduates are also welcome to apply.

Location

This position will report to the Raleigh, Charlotte, or Wilmington office three days per week.

The Impact You Will Have
  • Collect and analyze project data and perform modeling, engineering analyses, and design calculations for land development projects.
  • Assist in the preparation of site layouts, utility designs, grading plans, and stormwater management systems.
  • Develop design details and technical documentation under the guidance of experienced engineers.
  • Organize calculations and supporting documents in accordance with project standards and best practices.
  • Coordinate the drafting of site layouts, utility plans, grading plans, and drainage designs.
  • Perform field visits and site inspections as needed to support project development and delivery.
  • Gain experience applying engineering codes, standards, and industry best practices.
  • Build proficiency with CADD software and engineering design tools while taking increasing ownership of project deliverables.
What We Are Looking For
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or a related discipline required.
  • E.I.T. certification (or a desire to obtain a P.E. license in the future) preferred.
  • Two years of site development experience, including strong internship or related experience, preferred.
  • Experience with site design, utility layout, grading, and stormwater systems.
  • Strong experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and stormwater modeling software preferred.
  • Interest in land development, municipal infrastructure, and civil engineering projects.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment on challenging projects.
  • Willingness to support both office-based design work and field inspection activities, including occasional travel to project sites.
  • Familiarity with engineering codes, standards, and construction documentation is a plus. #LI-HV1
