Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee the organizationโ€™s comprehensive risk management function
  • Provide strategic guidance, oversight, and evaluation of risk exposure across the organization
  • Design and implement risk management frameworks
  • Direct insurance program strategy for a large, multi-company, primarily self-insured structure
  • Manage relationships with brokers, carriers, and third-party administrators
  • Oversee claims management, trend analysis, and related financial processes
  • Lead a team dedicated to enterprise-wide risk management initiatives
  • Manage the companyโ€™s comprehensive insurance program covering real estate assets
  • Gather, analyze, and validate exposure and underwriting data; complete insurance applications; negotiate renewal terms with brokers and insurers
  • Oversee insurance transactions including premium payments and compliance with lender insurance requirements
  • Manage the captive insurance program and recommend risk financing structures
  • Review contracts for insurance and bonding requirements in coordination with legal and development teams
  • Deliver internal and external risk reporting
Requirements
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in business, finance or related field
  • 6+ years of related business experience in the fields of risk or insurance; property insurance experience required
  • Multi-family and affordable housing experience preferred
  • Highly skilled with both written and oral communication
  • Computer Skills โ€“ Office; intermediate excel skills
  • Strong mathematical and analytical reasoning skills
  • Must be highly collaborative; ability to partner and influence across the organization to achieve company objectives while maintaining strong relationships
  • Ability to work independently to complete goals
