Job description

Job Description Summary
As the Field Service Engineer 2, you will perform preventative maintenance, installations, troubleshooting, and repairs on our life-changing medical equipment for X-ray, Vascular and MRI modalities within a hospital or healthcare system in Corpus Christi, TX area.
This is a remote role that requires the candidate to work onsite at customer locations and occasionally from home office. To provide onsite customer support, candidate needs to be able to work in the Corpus Christi, TX area.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
  • Perform installation, calibration, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance on a variety of GE Precision Healthcare medical imaging systems, including but not limited to MRI, CT, X-ray, Ultrasound, and Nuclear Medicine equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, utilizing advanced troubleshooting techniques and schematics.
  • Conduct thorough testing and performance verification of repaired systems to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to customers, explaining technical issues and solutions clearly and professionally.
  • Manage service calls and schedules efficiently to maximize equipment uptime and meet customer expectations.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed service records, including work performed, parts used, and time spent.
  • Adhere to all GE Precision Healthcare and customer safety protocols and procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with new product releases and service technologies.
  • Collaborate effectively with sales, applications, and support teams to address customer needs and improve overall service delivery.
  • Identify and report potential product issues or improvements to relevant internal teams.

Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent military experience.
  • Educational and Technical Requirements
    • Associate degree in related field or equivalent military education and 4 years of experience servicing electronic equipment
    • Or high school diploma/GED and 6 years of relevant experience
  • Technical capabilities in Multi-Modality including troubleshooting, repair and installation
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience servicing complex medical imaging equipment, with a strong preference for GE Precision Healthcare products.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair electronic, mechanical, and software-related issues on sophisticated medical devices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers, colleagues, and management.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a field-based environment.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Experience with Web applications as well as Microsoft suite of products

  • Ability to be available after hours and/or work a rotating on-call schedule including weekends
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, competing priorities while maintaining customer satisfaction
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs) and work in various physical positions, including bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
  • Availability to travel within the assigned territory and work flexible hours, including on-call rotations and occasional weekends/evenings as required.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and quality standards related to medical device servicing (e.g., FDA, ISO).

Special Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift, carry push and pull up to 35 lbs. unassisted and frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit and stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to reach at, above and below shoulder level, flex/extend neck and have good hand and finger dexterity.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job may include color, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
