Job Description
Our client is in need of a senior technician with a deep insight into data mining skills using SAS and/or experience using SAS and MXG to analyze SMF data for the purpose of identifying performance and tuning opportunities. Knowledge and hands-on infrastructure experience of mainframe system internals with the goal of identifying MIPS tuning opportunities is a plus. The position requires strong technical background in capacity and performance measurements. The consultant will lead the effort in capturing mainframe SMF data using scripts, collect and measure performance and capacity metrics. Metrics will be presented to the consumer in an online view to establish baseline and performance tuning results.
Qualifications
Experience with SAS reporting systems, MXG and SMF
Ability to develop tools and processes used on the project
Ability to construct the SMF model required to measure the tuning benefit
Ability to research and resolve any performance and reporting anomalies
Re-platform SAS reporting off the mainframe to the distributed platform
Strong expertise in data mining
Ability to analyze data and make tuning recommendations
Financial Services experience preferred
