This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations.

Blue Origin is assembling the leadership team that will enable humanity's future in space, and the Principal Executive Recruiter plays a critical role in making that vision reality. As a strategic talent advisor and full-lifecycle executive search expert, you will identify, attract, and secure exceptional leaders across VP, SVP, Senior Director, and key individual contributor roles that directly impact our most ambitious programs. This is not transactional recruiting; it's strategic talent acquisition that requires deep market intelligence, sophisticated assessment capabilities, and the ability to influence executive-level decision-making.

As a founding member of Blue Origin's executive recruiting capability, you will help establish the search standards, methodologies, and best practices that define excellence in executive talent acquisition for a pioneering aerospace company. You'll serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing market insights and talent strategy while managing high-stakes, confidential searches with precision and discretion. The ideal candidate brings extensive executive search experience, exceptional judgment in assessing leadership talent, and the strategic acumen to position Blue Origin as the premier destination for industry-leading executives who want to shape the future of space exploration.


Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Talent Acquisition:

  • Create and implement comprehensive recruitment strategies to identify, engage, and hire top executive talent.
  • Conduct proactive market mapping and benchmarking to stay ahead of talent trends in key functional areas.
  • Cultivate a pipeline of high-caliber candidates for critical executive roles.

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive executive recruiting strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to understand the company's growth objectives and executive hiring needs.
  • Deliver quarterly talent intelligence briefings that inform leadership decisions on organizational capability, competitive talent positioning, and emerging market trends impacting executive availability.

Search & Selection:

  • Conduct in-depth interviews and thorough assessments of executive candidates to evaluate qualifications, leadership capabilities, and cultural fit.
  • Apply advanced assessment tools and techniques to advise and guide hiring decisions.
  • Present comprehensive candidate reports and recommendations to senior leadership.

Executive Partnership:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the executive leadership team and hiring managers, providing thought leadership on all aspects of the executive search process.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the business strategy and organizational culture to align talent acquisition efforts with company goals.
  • Offer strategic insights on market dynamics, competitor activity, and compensation trends.

Candidate Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with potential executive candidates, ensuring a positive and engaging recruiting experience.
  • Lead the candidate experience from initial contact through offer acceptance and onboarding.
  • Orchestrate executive-level interactions including C-suite meetings, site visits, and strategic conversations that authentically showcase Blue Origin's mission and culture.

Process Excellence & Insights:

  • Lead initiatives to continuously enhance the executive recruitment process for efficiency and effectiveness, incorporating standard methodologies and technology.
  • Create and maintain metrics and reports to track the success and impact of executive recruiting efforts.
  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging recruitment technologies, and best practices in executive search.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in full-life cycle executive recruitment, with a successful track record of sourcing and closing VP level searches.
  • Deep expertise in executive search methodologies, sophisticated assessment tools, and recruitment technologies.
  • Ability to cultivate relationships and build trust with executive candidates and Blue Origin leaders.
  • Experience serving as a talent advisor to senior leaders and ability to influence at the executive level.
  • Fluent with talent platforms such as LinkedIn Recruiter, Recruiting CRM's, market analytics tools, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent work experience.

  • Exceptional organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrates operational excellence throughout the executive search process from search strategy, pipeline development, candidate assessment, and offer negotiation.
  • High level of discretion, integrity, and sensitivity to confidential information.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Contact Management/Applicant tracking system experience for sourcing, tracking, and managing candidates.
  • Possession of strong analytical skills with ability to create, measure, and scale the workflow between candidates, hiring managers, and the recruiting team.

Compensation Range for:

CO applicants is $148,720.00 - $208,207.65 WA applicants is $157,059.00 - $219,882.60

  • Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.

  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
