Leveraging MSK's mission of innovation and excellence in patient care, the Director, Epic Systems leads a complex acute care application portfolio, driving strategic alignment, operational performance, and continuous technology advancement. This leader ensures Epic solutions are scalable, efficient, and deeply integrated into clinical and operational workflows to support world-class oncology care.

Partnering across clinical, operational, and IT domains, the Director serves as a key advisor to executive leadership while fostering innovation andoptimizingsystem capabilities. Through strong governance, cross-functional collaboration, and a focus on outcomes, this role ensures technology investments translate into meaningful improvements in care delivery, patient safety, and organizational performance.

Role Overview

  • Lead Epic Acute Care domains including Grand Central, ClinDoc,ASAP, Orders, OpTime/Anesthesia, and Security

  • Define and execute strategic roadmaps for Epic application portfolios aligned with enterprise priorities and digital transformation goals

  • Oversee delivery, optimization, and lifecycle management of clinical and operational systems, ensuring high availability and performance

  • Serve as a senior advisor to clinical, operational, and executive stakeholders across MSK

  • Drive large-scale initiatives, upgrades, and transformation efforts across Epic platforms and integrated technologies

  • Establish governance frameworks, standards, and performance metrics across application teams

  • Ensure systems are reliable, secure, scalable, and aligned with regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, Joint Commission)

  • Partner with interdisciplinary leaders to improve quality, safety, and user experience through technology

  • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams across multiple application domains

  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement across the application portfolio

  • Collaborate with infrastructure, data, and digital teams to advance interoperability, analytics, and patient engagement solutions

Key Qualifications

  • 7+years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare IT, informatics, or related field

  • 5+ years of Epic application experience across acute care modulesrequired

  • Epic certifications in relevant modules (Grand Central, ClinDoc, ASAP, Orders, OpTime, Anesthesia, Security) preferred

  • Demonstrated experience leading large application portfolios and enterprise-wide technology initiatives

  • Strong understanding of healthcare operations, clinical workflows, and care delivery models

  • RN or clinical experience is preferred
