Director of Engineering at Luster Products

Are you a bold, hands-on leader with the courage to take charge and collaborate with a dynamic team? At Luster Products, we’re looking for a Director of Engineering to join our close-knit, family-oriented company.

We are a respected ethnic haircare industry leader with nearly 70 years of success, offering you the opportunity to make a real impact while leading an evolving team.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead and manage engineering operations across production lines, facilities, and maintenance.
  • Own capital project planning, expense management, and strategic equipment optimization.
  • Guide and mentor a team of mechanics, engineers, and facilities staff, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and oversee health and safety programs.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A self-starter who isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and get involved.
  • Someone who demonstrates leadership courage while building strong relationships with their team.
  • A director who thrives in an environment where they can shape the team, contribute strategically, and build for the long-term.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Engineering experience, preferably in the manufacturing or personal care products industry.
  • Experience with electrical systems, machinery maintenance, and managing equipment performance.
  • Knowledge of capital expense management, cost justification analysis, and adherence to environmental regulations (EPA, OSHA, and water management).
  • Proven track record in capital project management, including estimating project costs, tracking expenses, and evaluating potential savings.
