Director, Business Development - Content & Engagement

IQVIA is a global leader in advanced analytics, technology solutions, and clinical research, helping life sciences organizations accelerate innovation and improve patient outcomes. As we continue to expand our Content & Engagement business, we are seeking a strategic, client-focused business development leader to help drive growth across Medical Affairs and Commercial organizations.

Role Overview

The Director, Business Development will serve as a senior client lead responsible for identifying, developing, and expanding relationships with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and life sciences organizations. This role focuses on generating new business, growing existing accounts, and positioning IQVIA's Content & Engagement solutions to address client challenges and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic growth plans across assigned accounts to identify and secure new business opportunities.

  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers within client organizations.

  • Drive account growth through consultative selling, cross-selling, and integrated solution development across IQVIA capabilities.

  • Collaborate with proposal, contract, operational, and functional teams to develop compelling client solutions and sales strategies.

  • Lead client presentations and support sales pursuits from opportunity identification through contract execution.

  • Monitor customer satisfaction and serve as a trusted advisor throughout the client relationship lifecycle.

  • Maintain accurate sales activity reporting and opportunity management within CRM systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.

  • 12+ years of professional experience, including significant experience in business development, sales, Medical Affairs, health communications, or commercial life sciences services.

  • Demonstrated success developing and managing relationships with senior and executive-level stakeholders.

  • Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical commercialization process and drug development lifecycle.

  • Proven analytical and strategic thinking capabilities with the ability to translate client needs into business solutions.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, client-facing environment while managing multiple priorities.

  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with AI-enabled productivity tools is a plus.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $111,200.00 - $309,800.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
