About Gastops: Moving You since 1979

Over the last 47 years, Gastops has built a robust business which is recognized worldwide for its innovative contributions to equipment health management in the aviation, energy, marine, industrial and transportation industries. Gastops’ products and services add value throughout the life cycle of complex critical equipment from the design stage through to in-service operations and support. We design, manufacture, and support advanced equipment sensing and analysis products, including on-line oil debris sensors, torque measurement sensors, turbine blade health sensors, and at-line oil analysis systems.

We’re looking for a business development expert to lead our expansion and grow a portfolio of strategic, high-value commercial marine accounts. You’ll nurture long-term customer relationships, develop new accounts, and opportunities, drive customer success, and expand Gastops’ footprint within the commercial marine sector.

You’re self-motivated with a proven track record of finding, managing, and closing opportunities, and you partner closely with Customer Support, Marketing, Product Management, and technical teams to deliver value.

Help grow Gastops’ Marine Product & Services business by building trusted relationships with strategic customers, operators and maintenance providers, while shaping account strategy, and closing new opportunities across Commercial marine markets (commercial shipping, offshore energy, ferries, workboats and other marine operating sectors) around the world.

What You’ll Do:

Client Relationship Management:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for a portfolio of strategic and high-value customer accounts.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior members and decision-makers at key accounts.
  • Actively engage customers to understand their needs, challenges, and strategic goals, and align company solutions to meet those needs.
  • Grow Gastops profile and relationships within the commercial marine sector, including with operators and maintenance providers.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive account plans, identifying growth opportunities and support in building strategies to expand existing relationships.
  • Drive the execution of renewal, upsell, and cross-sell strategies within key accounts to meet revenue and profitability targets.
  • Monitor and report on account health, proactively identifying risks or challenges and supporting in implementing strategies to mitigate them.

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Engagement:

  • Work closely with Customer Support, Marketing, Product Management, and other internal teams to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and technical teams to deliver customized solutions and ensure customer needs are met.
  • Facilitate regular business reviews with customers, addressing concerns and presenting new opportunities or features.

Negotiation & Contract Management:

  • Lead contract negotiations and renewals for strategic accounts, ensuring terms align with both customer expectations and company objectives.
  • Lead pricing discussions, ensuring competitive yet profitable pricing structures.
  • Navigate complex agreements and support in resolving any contractual or service-related issues.

Domain Knowledge:

  • Develop and execute a market engagement strategy through industry associations, trade events, customer visits, and strategic partnerships to position Gastops as a trusted marine condition monitoring provider.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of the industry and customer needs relevant to current and future Gastops products, services and solutions
  • Maintain a strong technical understanding of our products, services and solutions for strong and effective communication to customers

What You Bring:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (technical or business preferred).
  • 5+ years of technical sales or applications experience in the marine industry.
  • Proven track record managing high-value accounts and driving growth.
  • High motivation with a results-oriented focus.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to create and convert leads into opportunities.
  • Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and account reporting tools.
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills (fluency in other languages is an asset).
  • Strong familiarity with rotating machinery applications in marine environments.
