Function

The Direct Response Manager plays a central role in driving customer acquisition and retention through data‑driven direct marketing programs. This position oversees the full lifecycle of the direct mail channel—from strategy and production to performance analysis—while managing budget allocations and supporting integrated campaigns across email and other direct response channels.

As the Direct Response Marketing Manager, you will oversee an average of 30 campaigns a calendar year, ensuring each initiative is strategically executed, performance‑optimized, and aligned with revenue goals. This role requires hands‑on ownership of invoice management, including reviewing vendor invoices for accuracy, coordinating approvals, and ensuring timely processing to maintain budget integrity and operational efficiency. You will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to keep campaigns on schedule while upholding financial and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct Mail Management

  • Lead end‑to‑end execution of direct mail campaigns, including planning, production timelines, vendor coordination, and quality assurance, with providing historicals to help drive creative development effectiveness.
  • Work closely with the Analytics and Product teams on list strategy, segmentation, targeting, and personalization to optimize response rates.
  • Manage relationships with printers, mail houses, and other external partners to ensure timely and cost‑effective delivery.
  • Evaluate new partners and supporting partner evaluation.

Performance Analysis & Optimization

  • Analyze campaign performance, response metrics, and ROI to identify trends and actionable insights.
  • Develop & implement testing strategies (A/B tests, creative tests, offer tests) to continuously improve channel performance.
  • Prepare regular reporting dashboards and present findings to internal stakeholders.

Budget & Project Management

  • Own direct mail budget planning, forecasting, and ongoing budget tracking.
  • Ensure campaigns stay within budget while maximizing efficiency and impact.
  • Maintain detailed project timelines and documentation to keep cross‑functional teams aligned.

Cross‑Channel Collaboration

  • Partner with the email marketing team to support integrated direct response strategies.
  • Leverage learnings from email and other channels to inform direct mail optimization.
  • Contribute to broader marketing initiatives that support customer acquisition, retention, and revenue goals.

Qualifications

  • 4-7+ years of experience in direct response marketing, with a strong focus on direct mail.
  • Proven experience managing production workflows, vendor relationships, and campaign timelines.
