POSITION: Anticipated Direct Care Manager
Twelve (12) Month Position
START DATE: Immediately - Pending Criminal History Review
REPORTS TO: ESCNJ ACS Program Executive Director
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Graduated from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree, or higher, in Education, Social Work, Psychology or related field, plus one (1) year of successful experience in human services or employment services; or
  • Graduated from an accredited college or university with an associate's degree, plus two (2) years of successful experience in human service; or
  • Graduated with a high school diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of experience in occupational areas similar to those being offered at the program. A combination of college or technical school may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis;
  • Have a clear understanding of the demands and expectations in business and industry and have 1 year of experience working with adult (18 or older) individuals with developmental disabilities
    • The experience must be the equivalent of a year of full-time documented experience working with adults (18 or older) with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
    • This experience can include paid employment, volunteer experience, and/or being a family caregiver of an adult with a developmental disability.directorc
    • If you have previously provided employment/job coach services to a different population and some percentage of the individuals you served had developmental disabilities, you may be able to demonstrate the equivalence of a year of experience working with adults with developmental disabilities (a waiver request along with the resume detailing experience and a justification for hiring the potential Direct Care Manager/Supervisor may be submitted to the Division's Assistant Director to demonstrate the experience requirement has been met); - and-
  • The ESCNJ ACS Program Direct Care Direct Care Managers/Supervisors must meet all of the qualifications of Direct Care Staff; - and-
    • Must possess a valid NJ driver's license and be insured by the state of New Jersey
  • State, Federal Criminal Background checks and Central Registry checks at the time of hire; - and-
  • Successfully complete trainings required by the Division before rendering services.

JOB GOAL: The ESCNJ ACS Program Direct Care Manager/Supervisor shall provide oversight and management of the ESCNJ ACS Program Direct Care personnel.
EVALUATION: One (1) to three (3) evaluations annually
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The ESCNJ ACS Program Direct Care Manager/Supervisor is responsible for:
  • Assigning and monitoring ESCNJ ACS Program Direct Care staff to ESCNJ ACS Program clients.
  • Ensuring that ESCNJ ACS Program direct care/client ratios are at the proper capacity to meet all deliverables.
  • Reviewing and implementing all Individualized Service Plans (ISP), utilizing the ISP Quality Review Checklist, and assigning ESCNJ ACS Program direct care staff to ESCNJ ACS Program client(s).
  • Ensuring that ESCNJ ACS Program direct care staff assigned to ESCNJ ACS Program client(s) are appropriate and sufficient to meet the client's need.
  • Ensuring that services in the Client's ISP are being provided in accordance with the service definitions and parameters outlined in Division policy.
  • Reviewing and signing, as appropriate, the ESCNJ ACS Program's Client Monitoring Tool. At a minimum the tool must be reviewed and signed during the following circumstances:
    • First 60 days of any new ESCNJ ACS Program Direct Care staff/personnel.
    • When performance issues with ESCNJ ACS Program Direct Care staff/personnel are identified.
    • Involved/difficult ESCNJ ACS Program cases.
  • Conducting internal monitoring and oversight of ESCNJ ACS Program Direct Care staff documentation and practices.
  • Acting as the supervisor of ESCNJ ACS Program Direct Care staff/personnel.
  • Ensuring compliance with all qualifications, standards, and policies related to ESCNJ ACS Program Direct Care staff.
  • Remaining up-to-date and in compliance with policy changes and updates regarding the ESCNJ ACS Program.
  • Performs such other duties as may be assigned.

The ESCNJ ACS Program Direct Care Manager/Supervisor does not have a client caseload.
APPOINTMENT:
Appointment shall be made by the Educational Services Commission of New Jersey Board of Directors upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Programs and the ESCNJ ACS Program Executive Director.
BENEFITS: Full-time staff are eligible for Medical, Prescription, and Dental Benefits. Pension system enrollment varies by position and certification. Vacation, Sick, Personal and Bereavement Days are included.
MINIIMUM SALARY: $65,000
