Job description

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is partnered with a respected facility in Western Massachusetts that is currently seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support individuals in a group home setting on a full-time or part-time basis.

Position Details
  • Location: Openings in Adams, North Adams, Clarksburg, Pittsfield, Williamstown, and West Stockbridge
  • Duration: 13 weeks to start, with a strong likelihood of extension
  • Facility Type: Group Home
  • Schedule: All shifts available (full-time and part-time)
  • Pay Rate: $20/hour
Position Description

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides hands-on support to individuals with disabilities in a group home environment. This position is care-intensive and requires regular involvement in personal care, toileting, cooking, and household cleaning.

DSPs assist individuals with all areas of daily living, including bathing, dressing, toileting, meal preparation, and maintaining a clean and safe living space. The role also focuses on promoting independence, supporting personal goals, and helping individuals participate in community and recreational activities they enjoy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide hands-on personal care, including toileting and hygiene assistance
  • Prepare meals and assist with feeding as needed
  • Perform routine housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe home
  • Support individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs)
  • Build positive relationships and encourage independence and personal growth
  • Assist individuals with community outings and recreational activities
  • Document services and follow care plans and teaching strategies
Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Reliable transportation required
  • High school diploma/GED or at least one year of relevant experience
  • Comfortable providing direct personal care and toileting support
