Job Summary

The Direct Care Associate (DCA) provides direct support services to individuals enrolled in the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP). The DCA assists clients with developing daily living skills, coping strategies, social skills, and community integration while supporting individualized rehabilitation goals.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide direct supportive services to PRP clients in home, community, school, or office settings
  • Assist clients with developing independent living and social skills
  • Support clients with goal setting, coping strategies, emotional regulation, and daily functioning
  • Implement rehabilitation plans and interventions under supervision
  • Monitor client progress and document services accurately and timely
  • Assist clients with accessing community resources and appointments
  • Provide encouragement, mentoring, and emotional support
  • Support crisis prevention and de-escalation when needed
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, therapists, families, and treatment teams
  • Ensure client safety and promote a positive therapeutic environment

Qualifications and Skills

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associate’s degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, or related field preferred
