Job Description

AECOM Hunt is Hiring a hands-on Sr. VDC/Digital Technology Specialist with experience delivering BIM coordination in a General Contractor environment with strong data analysis skills.

In this role you will drive project-specific digital delivery strategies, lead MEP coordination, manage VDC deliverables and reporting, and champion field technology adoption (drones, AR/VR, mobile).

This role collaborates closely with the project team and our VDC leadership to ensure high-quality coordination, field verification, and facility model turnover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the Project-Specific Digital Delivery Strategy aligned to project goals and constraints.
  • Partner with the Project Team to assess needs, plan implementation, and ensure effective adoption of VDC processes and tools.
  • Lead and manage Project-Specific MEP Coordination (trade coordination, clash management, model reviews).
  • Establish and maintain the Schedule/BEP (BxP) and Reality Capture Plan; align 4D/5D where applicable.
  • Own all VDC project deliverables and reporting; track progress and communicate status to stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain the Project Hub landing page; coordinate regularly with the VDC Regional Manager on strategy, resources, and reporting.
  • Define and manage the Field Verification Strategy; oversee as-built updates and facility-model data turnover.
  • Apply basic AR/VR workflows for coordination reviews and stakeholder engagement; explore practical AI-assisted workflows at an introductory level.
  • Attend and present at field staff meetings; translate coordination insights into clear site-ready actions.
  • Drive technology adoption in the field (drones, field tech, AR/VR, mobile data capture) and troubleshoot implementation.
  • Manage 3rd-party resources (VDC consultants, scanning providers, specialty vendors) for quality, schedule, and deliverables.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS/BA Engineering/Construction Management or similar curriculum and 6 years of relevant experience. 
  • Prior experience in A/E/C.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience performing BIM/VDC coordination for a General Contractor on at least two projects (MEP trade coordination required).
  • Data analysis experience (e.g., Excel/Power Query, Power BI, or similar) with the ability to turn model/field data into actionable insights.
  • Proficiency with BIM/VDC tools used in GC coordination (e.g., Navisworks, Revit, BIM 360/ACC or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with 4D scheduling workflows and reality capture (laser scanning, photogrammetry) preferred.
  • Basic exposure to AR/VR tools and openness to learning AI-enabled workflows.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present coordination outcomes to field staff and trade partners.
  • Comfortable working primarily on a job site and collaborating with field teams and trade partners.
  • Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple stakeholders and third-party resources.
  • Experience with Synchro (or 4D equivalents), reality capture processing tools, and common issue-tracking platforms.
  • Power BI dashboards or similar reporting portfolios.
  • Experience preparing model-based handover/as-built deliverables for facility management.
  • Data analysis experience (e.g., Excel/Power Query, Power BI, or similar).
  • Proficiency with BIM/VDC tools (e.g., Navisworks, Revit, BIM 360/ACC).
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; onsite collaboration experience.
  • Reality capture planning and processing experience.
