Description:

The Digital Shelf Manager is responsible for working collaboratively to lead the creation, distribution, and publication of visual merchandising tools across owned tools, owned sites, and partner sites. The ideal candidate will have practical experience in digital shelf and merchandising tools, be comfortable with project management and optimizing cross-functional processes and have a historical understanding of the retail environment of sales, marketing, and digital merchandising. Additional responsibilities include managing and working with individuals on customer portals as well as managing and understanding the impact of marketing initiatives like content-driven search engine optimization, product sampling, and digital marketing. This individual will develop financial modeling and conduct cost analysis for all digital content creation. Daily positive and upbeat internal and external department effective communication (both written and verbal) is an integral part of this position, as well as clear and effective communication with retail partners.

  • Build and distribute best in class content for both, retailer-lead item setups and owned DTC product listings
  • Supporting daily customer-centric responsibilities of setup, maintenance and optimizing assortments on site
  • Own, maintain and develop the digital shelf toolkit ecosystem (PIM, DAM, and other tools that impact shelf KPIs) with a focus on maintaining and enforcing data integrity and consistencies
  • Develop and provide complete and accurate product data to digital shelf and sales teams via PIM custom channels, portals, channel portals, and/or syndication for highly efficient item setups
  • Own and manage listing scorecards and PDP health across all retail channels, tracking content completeness, quality scores, and retailer compliance requirements; proactively identify and remediate gaps to maintain best-in-class product page standards
  • Manage setup team workflows end-to-end, overseeing project management of item setup pipelines from intake through live publication, ensuring milestones, deadlines, and quality standards are consistently met
  • Manage product copy development processes to increase SERP & SEO rank for optimal discoverability, applying meticulous attention to detail in all copywriting, editing, and product data maintenance to ensure accuracy and brand consistency across all channels
  • Lead the collection and syndication of product reviews and related UGC and focus on scaling efforts with implementation of new tools, campaigns, and overall process improvements
  • Contribute to the discovery, evaluation, and build of AI-driven tools and automation workflows that streamline end-to-end ecommerce data flow, reduce manual processes, and improve speed-to-market for product content
  • Work with directors and cross-departmental leads to onboard new project management tool
  • Utilizing appropriate project management systems, execute timely omni & ecommerce product launches and oversee process start to finish
  • Educate & help evangelize established workflows, be accountable for partners methodically adding newly delivered content to the PM tool, PIM, DAM, or Sampling systems as appropriate
  • Track and report digital merchandising performance and cost analysis as it relates to item setup progress, listing scorecard metrics, PDP health scores, product review sampling feedback, new tools and system integrations, and regularly monitor results
  • Analyze content creation process, usage, in partnership with internal counterparts, to recommend or implement data-based optimizations where applicable
  • Build, coach and mentor all digital merchandising team members, fostering ecommerce expertise and enthusiasm for being strategic experts
  • Pursue new projects, tools and ways of working to achieve better business results and best in class merchandising and digital shelf actions
Requirements:
  • College Degree
  • Background (3-5+ yrs) in digital content for corporate retail or wholesale business
  • Experience working within an eCommerce or digital retail environment, and managing others
  • Possess a creative mindset with excellent communication and project management skills
  • Exceptional product copywriting and editing capabilities with meticulous, detail-oriented approach to product data maintenance, content accuracy, and quality assurance across large-scale catalogs
  • Comfortable maintaining extensive product data catalogs utilizing PIM and DAM tools
  • Experience managing complex digital shelf, site merchandising and discoverability insights
  • Demonstrated experience owning listing scorecards, PDP health reporting, and retailer content compliance programs across multiple ecommerce channels
  • Proven ability to manage setup team workflows and project manage multi-channel item setup pipelines from intake to publication
  • Familiarity with or enthusiasm for AI tools, automation platforms, and data flow solutions that support ecommerce operations; experience contributing to AI tool discovery or implementation is a plus
  • Able to tackle complex situations, evaluate alternative courses of action, and provide fact-based solutions/recommendations
  • Strong analytical background and presentation skills
  • Socially aware with an interest in consumer insights, shopping journey and influential tools
  • Desire to work in a highly collaborative environment, with a passion for problem solving
  • Strong influencing and relationship building/management skills
  • Change agent with an ability to think out of the box and bring new innovative ideas to the table
  • Experience in Microsoft Office, marketing and content management tools, social media platforms, advertising platforms, etc.
  • Experience in extensive consumer product catalogs is strongly preferred
