Job description

Learning Designer
Role Summary
The Learning Designer will support a Manufacturing writing eLearning series by designing digital learning experiences that help employees apply writing principles directly to their day-to-day work.
This role is heavily focused on story-driven eLearning design-translating performance objectives and SME input into clear, engaging narratives delivered through Vyond video and Articulate Storyline.
We are seeking a self-directed learning designer who can take a high-level outline and independently develop end-to-end eLearning modules, including scripts, visuals, and interactions, that drive behavior change.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop learning assets, with a strong focus on Vyond videos and Articulate Storyline modules.
  • Take high-level content outlines and performance-focused objectives and build complete learning narratives, including story flow, scripting, and learner interactions.
  • Write voiceover scripts that clearly walk learners through how to apply concepts in real job scenarios.
  • Translate complex, process-heavy content into clear, engaging, and learner-friendly stories that show practical application.
  • Apply Mayer's Principles of Multimedia Learning to ensure content is concise, visually effective, and easy to understand.
  • Partner with SMEs to understand the intent of the content and ensure accuracy, while independently shaping how it is presented to learners.
  • Design learning that reduces cognitive overload and reinforces key behaviors.
  • Independently manage deliverables from intake through development, incorporating feedback and maintaining quality standards.

Required Education and Experience
  • BA/BS required with 1-3 years of experience in instructional design, content development, or learning experience design.
  • Required: Demonstrated experience using Vyond to create learning videos.
  • Required: Experience developing eLearning using Articulate Storyline.
  • Proven ability to write clear, engaging scripts for video or eLearning (voiceover, scenarios, step-by-step guidance).
  • Ability to take complex content and break it down into structured, learner-friendly explanations.
  • Experience designing learning that connects directly to on-the-job application, not just knowledge transfer.
  • Understanding and application of instructional design principles (e.g., ADDIE, action mapping, learning sciences).
  • Demonstrated use of Mayer's Principles to guide content design decisions (e.g., reducing extraneous content, aligning visuals to message).
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership, and deliver high-quality work with minimal oversight.
  • Strong collaboration skills when working with SMEs and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in regulated environments (e.g., GxP, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or quality).
