What is a Development Lead?

A Development Lead is a professional responsible for overseeing a team of software developers or engineers to ensure successful project delivery. They coordinate technical tasks, mentor team members, and act as a bridge between management and the development team. Development Leads also contribute to architectural decisions, code reviews, and help resolve technical issues. Their role often includes project planning, delegating tasks, and tracking progress to meet deadlines and quality standards.

How does a Development Lead typically balance hands-on coding with team management responsibilities?

Development Leads often split their time between technical tasks, such as reviewing code or architecting solutions, and leadership duties like mentoring team members, planning sprints, and facilitating collaboration. The exact balance depends on the organization's size and structure, but most Development Leads find themselves gradually shifting toward more strategic and people-focused activities as their teams grow. Effective time management and clear communication are key to ensuring both technical excellence and team alignment. Many leads also delegate coding tasks to encourage skill development within the team while focusing on removing blockers and aligning projects with business objectives.

What is the difference between Development Lead vs Software Engineer?

AspectDevelopment LeadSoftware Engineer
ResponsibilitiesOversees project development, manages teams, and coordinates technical effortsDevelops, tests, and maintains software applications
Required SkillsTechnical expertise, leadership, project managementProgramming, problem-solving, technical knowledge
Work EnvironmentTeam leadership, project planning, cross-functional collaborationIndividual coding tasks, software development teams
Common CertificationsRelevant certifications like PMP, Scrum Master, technical certificationsProgramming certifications, specific technology certifications

The main difference between a Development Lead and a Software Engineer lies in their scope of responsibilities. The Development Lead focuses on guiding teams, managing projects, and ensuring successful delivery, while a Software Engineer primarily concentrates on coding and technical problem-solving. Both roles require strong technical skills, but the Development Lead also needs leadership and project management abilities.

What jobs in the US pay 300,000 a year?

Development Leads, especially in senior or specialized roles within technology companies, can earn $300,000 or more annually, often with bonuses and stock options. High-paying roles typically require extensive experience, advanced technical skills, and leadership responsibilities in software development or engineering environments.

What jobs pay 500,000 a year in the US?

Development Leads in senior technology roles, such as CTOs or executive software engineers, can earn $500,000 or more annually, especially in large companies or with significant equity and bonuses. High compensation often requires extensive experience, advanced skills in project management, and leadership in high-demand industries like finance, tech, or consulting.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Development Lead, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Development Lead, you need advanced programming knowledge, experience in software architecture, and a background in leading technical teams, often supported by a degree in computer science or related fields. Familiarity with version control systems like Git, project management tools such as Jira, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines is typically required. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities set exceptional Development Leads apart. These skills ensure high-quality deliverables, effective team collaboration, and successful project outcomes in dynamic software environments.

What does a lead development manager do?

A lead development manager oversees the development team, guiding project planning, setting technical standards, and ensuring timely delivery of software or product features. They coordinate between stakeholders, mentor team members, and often use project management tools to track progress and maintain quality standards.

Is being a BDM a stressful job?

A Business Development Manager (BDM) role can be stressful due to targets, client negotiations, and workload management. Success often depends on strong communication, time management, and resilience, but stress levels vary based on company culture and individual skills.

Job Description: Business Development LeadCompany: Delora CareRole: Growth Partner – Senior Home Care & Memory Support

Compensation: 100% Commission-Based (Residual + Hourly-Based Earnings)
Target Earnings: $80,000 – $200,000+ annually
Earning Potential: Uncapped
Benefits: Medical, Dental, and 401(k) eligibility after 90 days of consistent production

The Opportunity: Be the Bridge Families Need

Families today are carrying more than ever. Many are trying to manage careers, children, and their own households while also navigating the emotional and practical challenges of caring for aging parents facing memory loss, mobility issues, and increasing daily support needs.

At Delora Care, we provide compassionate, non-medical in-home support that helps seniors remain safe, comfortable, and dignified in the place they know best: home.

We are seeking a driven, relationship-focused Business Development Lead who is confident in a commission-only structure because they know how to create opportunity, build trust, and grow lasting referral relationships. This is not for someone waiting on leads. This is for someone ready to build a strong pipeline, create meaningful community connections, and generate substantial long-term income.

We provide the exceptional caregivers and service experience.

You bring the families, partners, and referral sources who need us most.

Why Delora Care?Residual Income That Builds Over Time

This is not a one-time sale. You earn commission based on the ongoing care hours provided for the clients you bring in, giving you the opportunity to build recurring, long-term income.

Fast Starts, Less Red Tape

Because our services are non-medical, families can begin care quickly without waiting on physician orders, insurance approvals, or complex clinical authorizations. That means fewer barriers and a shorter path from conversation to conversion.

A Specialized, High-Value Service

Delora Care is not offering basic sitter services. We specialize in senior home care and memory support, including compassionate Alzheimer’s and dementia care. You are offering families a solution that provides safety, structure, engagement, and peace of mind during one of the most difficult stages of life.

Unlimited Growth Potential

Your success is directly tied to your effort, strategy, and follow-through. There is no cap on what you can earn.

Your Role: Grow the Heart of the Business

At Delora Care, Personal Care and Memory Support Services are at the core of what we do. As a Growth Partner, your role is to educate the community, build referral pipelines, and connect families to services that truly make a difference.

You will help position Delora Care as the trusted solution for families needing support with:

Daily Living Assistance

Helping seniors with morning and evening routines, dressing, grooming, hygiene, meal support, and other everyday activities that allow them to remain comfortable and cared for at home.

Safety and Mobility Support

Providing families with confidence that their loved ones are moving safely throughout the home with reduced fall risk and appropriate non-medical assistance.

Dementia and Memory Care Support

Sharing how Delora Care uses compassionate, specialized approaches to reduce confusion, support routines, encourage engagement, and ease the anxiety often associated with Alzheimer’s and dementia.

  • Build and manage relationships with families, community partners, and referral sources

  • Generate new client leads through networking, outreach, and local market development

  • Educate prospects on Delora Care’s home care and memory support services

  • Develop a strong book of business that generates recurring residual income

  • Represent the Delora Care brand with professionalism, compassion, and confidence

  • Identify opportunities in the community to expand visibility and drive growth

Who You Are
  • Highly motivated and comfortable in a performance-based compensation model

  • Skilled at building relationships and earning trust

  • Strong communicator with confidence speaking to families and professionals

  • Entrepreneurial, self-directed, and goal-oriented

  • Passionate about helping seniors and supporting families in need

  • Experienced in sales, business development, healthcare outreach, home care, senior living, or community relations is a plus

Ideal Background

Candidates with experience in any of the following areas are strongly encouraged to apply:

  • Home care or home health sales

  • Senior living outreach

  • Healthcare marketing

  • Community relations

  • Hospice or private duty care sales

  • Business development and referral networking

Why This Role Matters

This is more than a sales role. This is an opportunity to connect families with real support during a vulnerable and emotional season of life. Your work directly impacts whether a senior can remain safely at home, whether a family can finally breathe again, and whether the right care arrives at the right time.

At Delora Care, growth is not just about revenue. It is about reaching more families who need help now.

Apply If You’re Ready To
  • Build your own book of business

  • Earn uncapped residual income

  • Make a meaningful impact in your community

  • Partner with a company providing real solutions for seniors and families

Delora Care is looking for a Growth Partner who is hungry, compassionate, and ready to grow with purpose.
