Job description

Principal Developer

As a Principal Developer, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the analysis, design, and development of custom software applications to support critical business needs.
  • Working closely with Architects, Systems Developers, Project Managers, Scrum Masters, Quality Assurance Analysts, and Business Analysts to develop and maintain systems as designed.
  • Promoting continuous learning with the development team to improve skills and practice.

The Principal Developer is expected to perform design activities with an enterprise mindset. This involves understanding the complex interplay between mission-critical applications, and the underlying architecture of applications themselves, along with the long-term objectives of the business to ensure technology solutions best fit the long-term vision of the organization.

The Principal Developer is the thought leader for the development team, understanding the architecture of the larger ecosystem and translating that to sound, forward-looking design decisions for all applicable applications and team members.

Work Experience:

  • Understand key technical Salesforce aspects like:
    • Data migrations, data quality
    • Systems integrations (including APIs) with other systems
    • 3rd party applications, AppExchange products, and custom code.
  • Develop Apex (classes and triggers), Aura Components and Lightning Web Components to extend Salesforce in order to support business requirements.
  • 7+ years’ experience with Salesforce development

Team focus: Maintaining, developing, and improving SF implementation. Used by CU, SU, and internal IT. Sales workflow, automated workflow

  • Need someone who can help settle into SF as part of an integrated key component of tech stack.
  • Implemented in 2019, rolled out to universities in 2020-2021, now tidying up lingering capabilities. Need to get into continuous implementation delivery, instill best practices and get functioning properly.

Role:

  • Marketing Cloud, components of Sales and Service, Digital engagement, Sales engagement, Einstein capabilities.
  • Aura and Lightning Web Component (LWC) environment. Will take candidates with just Aura.
  • Need Senior level on tech side but need to be able to help with enhancements, work with team, instill best practices.
  • Less about work direction, more about mentorship/guidance, best practices. Will have a different tech lead.
  • Some development, but less than 80% of job.
  • Can flex on years of experience – demonstrated capability more important
