Job description

We are helping a locally rooted Rhode Island non-profit find their next Development Assistant to support fundraising and outreach activities. Managing a base of 500+ donors and 40+ grants, this role is a perfect fit for a collaborative team player who excels at grant writing, detailed scheduling, and building authentic community relationships.
Compensation & Benefits:
  • Salary: $54,000 – $58,000 per year (Depending on experience)
  • Benefits: Health benefits, 3+ weeks vacation, 11 paid holidays, and a Simple IRA with employer match.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Grant Writing & Research: Assist the Associate Director in researching new funding opportunities and writing proposals and budgets.
  • Grant Management: Manage existing grants by handling progress reports, donor communications, and strict deadline calendars.
  • Donor & Partner Relations: Help maintain relationships through fundraising campaigns, special events, thank-you notes, and year-end receipts.
  • Communications & Database: Help write the newsletter and manage donor tracking, data entry, and reporting using Salesforce (training provided).
  • Public Outreach: Deliver presentations to civic, school, and faith-based groups to educate the public about the organization's work with refugees.

Qualifications:
  • Experience: Proven background in writing successful grants and navigating grant-search databases.
