The Opportunity

Dash Developments is seeking a Development Planning Manager to support the planning, approvals, coordination, and execution of active and prospective residential development projects. This role is suited to a highly organized and proactive professional who can manage multiple priorities, coordinate consultants and municipal stakeholders, and provide clear, timely reporting to senior leadership.



Key Responsibilities

  • Manage development projects through entitlement and approvals, and support sales and marketing coordination where required.
  • Review and coordinate municipal applications, including ZBLA, SPA, OPA, and subdivision submissions.
  • Assist with consultant procurement and manage consultants to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective deliverables.
  • Liaise with municipal staff and coordinate responses to comments to advance development approvals.
  • Support due diligence reviews on prospective acquisitions and provide planning insight on active and prospective projects.
  • Attend project meetings and lead consultant coordination meetings as needed.
  • Assist with project pro formas, soft cost budgets, building permit coordination, Tarion-related matters, and development-related contract review.
  • Maintain accurate project dashboards, records, and internal reporting for the Principals.
  • Lead the weekly internal project update meeting and circulate action items and takeaways.
  • Provide a weekly Thursday written update to the Principals highlighting key developments, risks, and time-sensitive matters.
  • Monitor municipal and provincial policy changes that may affect current or future projects and communicate key implications internally.
  • Identify opportunities to improve internal processes, consistency, and overall project execution.



Qualifications and Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in real estate development planning, preferably in residential development.
  • Strong understanding of Ontario municipal planning and municipal approvals processes, including rezoning, site plan approval, official plan amendment, subdivision, and permit coordination.
  • Experience managing consultants, reviewing submissions, and working with municipal staff and approval authorities.
  • Experience supporting due diligence, budgets, soft costs, and development pro formas.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare concise updates and recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Proficiency in Sketch Up, AutoCad, Microsoft Office, and project tracking tools; experience working with internal pro forma models is an asset.
  • Professional, collaborative, and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
