The City of Concord is currently seeking to fill one Senior Desktop Engineer vacancy in the Information Technology Department.
The Information Development Department:
The mission of the Information Technology Department is to ensure Concord's technology portfolio provides the appropriate set of tools required for delivering high-quality services to internal departments, Concord residents, and other agencies in a consistent manner sustainable over the 10-year budget horizon.
What you will be doing:
  • Leading and inspiring a team of Service Desk Technicians to deliver exceptional desktop support services across the organization.
  • Developing and delivering technical trainings and documentation to empower technology users.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date inventory of all IT assets and overseeing asset lifecycle replacement project.
  • Participating and making recommendations for IT planning and improvement projects.
  • Administering and maintaining Active Directory ensuring secure and efficient user authentication and access control.
  • Monitoring and managing the IT ticketing system, ensuring timely resolution of user request and incidents.
  • Diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues to ensure minimal disruption to customers.
  • Designing and implementing scripts to automate software deployment and streamline repetitive tasks.

SELECTION PROCESS

Qualifications
Knowledge and Abilities
Considerable knowledge of patterns and trends in computer technology with emphasis on structured design, analysis, relational databases, and programming techniques; of uses, capabilities, characteristics and limitations of computer systems and of various modern computer languages for business applications.
Ability to lead and perform systems analysis and programming activities; to learn and effectively apply related equipment, policies, procedures, and practices affecting systems and programming activities; to identify ways of achieving improvements and efficiency in a fashion responsive to needs of users; to develop and maintain appropriate documentation; to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information; to communicate effectively orally and in writing; and to establish and maintain cooperative and effective relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Education/Experience
Education: Possession of a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
