Job description

A Car Porter, or Auto Porter, maintains vehicles and lots at auto dealerships.

Their duties include moving vehicles, cleaning the dealership lot, and handling light maintenance tasks.

Pay: starting $16/hour

Responsibilities

Car Porters must be trustworthy, responsible with vehicles, and flexible in their responsibilities.

Their main job is to assist other auto dealership employees to make things easier for customers.

Some daily Car Porter job duties and responsibilities include:

  • Moving vehicles as needed to different locations on the auto dealership lot
  • Providing customer service to prospective buyers by bringing vehicles to them
  • Cleaning the interiors and exteriors of vehicles
  • Performing maintenance tasks, such as topping off vehicle fluids
  • Placing stickers and signs on vehicles
  • Cleaning the auto dealership parking lot, including picking up trash and removing snow or ice
  • Starting vehicles regularly and making sure there arenโ€™t any issues with them
  • Running errands for various departments, including sales, parts, and auto body

Qualifications

  • A valid driving license is mandatory
  • Maintain professional business attire and appearance
