Essential Function:

Design, implement, and maintain secure, reliable, highperformance SQL Server-based database and data platform solutions-including data warehouse, datamart, and data lake environments-that support Silfex's missioncritical operations and analytics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administer SQL Server instances, clusters, SQL Agent jobs, and resource usage across environments.
  • Ensure High Availability & Disaster Recovery readiness, including failover validation, backup/restore execution, and overall DR preparedness.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance through proactive tuning, workload analysis, and index management.
  • Support data warehouse, datamart, and data lake environments, ensuring reliable data flows and alignment with analytics requirements.
  • Manage and monitor SSISbased ETL pipelines and SSRS reporting deployments across Dev/QA/Prod.
  • Automate routine DBA tasks to improve reliability, repeatability, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure security and compliance of all databases and portals, implementing best practices for data protection and access control.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for database architecture, processes, controls, and security protocols.
  • Maintain compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and training for new or less experienced team members.
  • Stay current with emerging database technologies and security standards to recommend improvements and optimizations.
  • Collaborate with self-directed and cross-functional teams in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in engineering or IT, with a Bachelor's degree in a technology or relevant field; or 6 years experience with a Master's degree.
  • Senior level experience with relational databases and SQL Server administration, including HA/DR concepts.
  • Experience working with data warehouse and datamart environments, including core data modeling concepts.
  • Experience supporting ETL and reporting environments (SSIS/SSRS or equivalent).
  • Solid understanding of IT security best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Willingness to work in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and supporting complex technical solutions.
