Within Schwab Data, this role plays a critical part in how we build, manage, and evolve enterprise data products that enable insight‑driven decision making across the firm. As a Senior Data Product Owner, you’ll bring clarity, ownership, and prioritization to complex data initiatives—partnering closely with technology teams and business stakeholders to turn analytical needs into trusted, well‑designed data products.

You’ll work in a highly collaborative environment that values curiosity, transparency, and shared success. This role offers the opportunity to influence how data is designed, governed, and delivered at scale while continuing to grow your own product leadership capabilities.

What You’ll Do

  • Own and evolve data products across defined subject areas, ensuring alignment to business outcomes and analytical needs
  • Translate complex business questions into clear, actionable data requirements for technology teams
  • Prioritize and manage backlogs to maximize value delivery across the data product lifecycle
  • Partner with engineering, architecture, and analytics teams to design scalable, high‑quality data solutions
  • Remove obstacles and drive progress by proactively addressing risks, dependencies, and ambiguities
  • Foster shared understanding and transparency across stakeholders through clear communication and documentation
  • Promote operational excellence by improving processes that support sustainable data development and delivery
What you have

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Analytics, or a related field
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience analyzing complex source databases and data warehouse environments
  • Minimum of 6 years of hands‑on SQL experience supporting analytical or data warehouse use cases
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience creating requirements for data acquisition, transformation, and curation
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience working as a Product Owner within data management or analytics environments
  • Fosters ongoing operational excellence by designing processes for organizational capability development
  • Constructs processes that streamline and maximize the entire product development life cycle
  • Streamlines requirement analysis and validation for enhanced efficiency
  • Demonstrated ability to bring structure and clarity to ambiguous problem spaces
  • Strong ability to influence, collaborate, and build alignment across technical and non‑technical partners
  • Proven skill in prioritization, critical thinking, and managing competing demands

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a related technical or analytical field
  • Experience supporting data initiatives within financial services, banking, or brokerage environments
  • Experience working in Google Big Query
  • Experience with any/all Business Data Management (BDM) concepts; Data Migration, Data Quality, Data Synchronization, Data Administration, Data Governance and Metadata Management
  • Synthesizes complex data, manages resources, and develops strategic insights
  • Establishes communication processes for smooth information flow with others involved in a project or effort
  • Provides thought leadership in the business area and independently drives strategic initiatives
  • Supports peers in technical areas to refine their knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Enables stakeholders to align decisions with business goals
  • Influences best practices to plan to prepare for opportunities or challenges
  • Champions innovative solutions to improve efficiency Influences decisions that drive functional success and operational improvements
  • Verbally articulates ideas impactfully, fostering open dialogue Inspires confidence with proven expertise, integrity, and accurate communication
  • Sets performance-driven goals across groups and drives continuous improvement
