This role is essential for companies handling sensitive information, such as financial records, personal data, or proprietary business information.

What are the typical daily responsibilities for someone working in data destruction?

In a data destruction role, your daily tasks often include receiving, inventorying, and securely destroying hard drives, storage devices, or physical documents using approved methods and equipment. Dependability, integrity, and clear communication are vital soft skills, as trustworthiness and adherence to strict protocols are essential in this role. These capabilities ensure sensitive data is completely and compliantly destroyed, protecting organizational and customer information from breach or misuse.

About PlanITROI and the Center of Excellence

Since 2001, PlanITROI has been a global leader in Reverse Logistics, IT Asset Disposition, Asset Recovery, Repair, Refurbishment, and Lifecycle Services for OEMs, retailers, enterprises, educational institutions, and businesses of all sizes. Today, we are building something bigger: The world’s greatest Repair and Refurbishment company for ITAD and Lifecycle Services.

At the heart of our mission is our Center of Excellence in Youngsville, North Carolina, where returned, retired, and idle IT devices are transformed into high-quality, re-certified, affordable technology solutions.

The work we do gives computers, laptops, tablets, and other devices a second life — and gives businesses, students, families, and communities greater access to the technology they need.

Our clients trust us to protect their data, recover value from their retired assets, meet the highest compliance standards, and support the circular economy. But our mission goes beyond processing equipment. We are building a future-ready operation powered by quality, accountability, innovation, automation, training, and people who take pride in doing meaningful work. At PlanITROI, a retired device is not the end of the story. It can become someone's opportunity.

We are looking for teammates who want to be part of building the future.
