Data Destruction Technician
Department: Operations
$20 Hourly || Paid Biweekly
HOURS OF OPERATIONS: 
MONDAY-FRIDAY|| 6:30AM-3PM

We are a certified B Corp in the Electronics and Sustainability field, with facilities in Tempe, AZ, Austin, TX, and Palo Alto, CA.
Job Summary:
The Data Destruction Technician is part of the IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) team and is responsible for the secure and safe destruction of client data. Operationally this includes data erasure using software or physical shred or destruction based on client commitments or asset condition for laptops, pcs, phones, servers, or network devices. You will also assist with the physical grading determining next steps for the equipment.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Destroy Data
  • Erase or Shred HDD
  • Image Devices
  • Record condition and grade
  • Input all data into ERP
  • Monitor Erasure Software
  • Recommendations and actions to improve the department and outcomes
  • Offsite projects as appropriate
  • Other duties as necessary and assigned

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Basic computer skills
  • Great communication skills, detailed-oriented, and consistent
  • Collaboration in a team environment
  • Previous warehouse experience preferred
  • Experience with sanitizing / testing HDDs and SSDs preferred
  • Experience troubleshooting issues with enterprise-grade information systems (servers, networking equipment, storage arrays, etc.), laptops, desktops, and mobile devices

Physical Requirements:

  • May include standing for long periods of time, squatting, twisting, bending, and lifting between 10-50 lbs. (or more) regularly.
