YOUR ROLE You will be an Assistant Planner supporting the planning and buying teams during pre‐ and in‐season planning processes. Working closely with your Planner, you will help achieve sales and profit objectives for merchandise categories and assist with financial plans, assortment and buy plans. You will also support the buying team with Open to Buy (OTB), receipt management, market prep and ad‐hoc merchandise analysis. Responsibilities Supports in monthly OTB forecasts and presentation Assists Planner in developing pre‐season sales, profit and inventory targets and identifies opportunities and liabilities in season Maintains daily and weekly reports for the merchant team Regularly analyzes business at vendor, product category, and classification level and makes recommendations to drive the business Develops and maintains relationships with vendors to align on business goals/needs Works effectively with Buying, Planning, Category Growth, and Store Allocation teams Prepares pre‐market buy recommendations related to style breadth and unit depth by vendor and channel Takes on progressively increased responsibility and ownership of a piece of the business as you progress in the role Required Qualifications Post‐secondary education or commensurate retail experience Minimum 1‐2 years in buying, planning or allocation capacity Fundamental understanding of retail math and inventory management Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel Familiarity with merchandising systems Preferred Qualifications A natural problem‐solver with a financial and analytical lens Resourceful and proactive, with a solution‐oriented mindset Detail‐oriented Experience working across multiple functions to gather various perspectives to solve a problem Takes initiative on projects and tasks and can handle challenges with confidence Benefits Medical insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance 401(k) retirement plan Basic life insurance Supplemental life insurance Disability insurance Various voluntary benefits (e.g., critical illness, hospital and accident insurance) Comprehensive benefits package for all eligible full‐time employees Employee discount on merchandise Saks.com is an equal opportunity employer.
