Job Title: Material Planner III

Location: Vacaville, CA
Pay Rate: $32/hr on W2

Summary

The Material Planner III is responsible for ensuring timely availability of materials to support the product supply plan by executing Materials Requirements Plans (MRP). This role requires close coordination with cross-functional teams to manage changes in plans, resolve material availability issues, and optimize inventory management initiatives.

Job Duties

  • Convert planned orders into material plans, including creation and management of material planned requirements.
  • Liaise with Supply Planners and Schedulers to keep material plans accurate and up to date.
  • Create and maintain detailed material planning parameters in planning systems.
  • Convert material requirements plans (purchase requisitions) into purchase orders.
  • Expedite material availability by coordinating with procurement and inbound processing teams.
  • Develop and manage material-related KPIs to ensure visibility of material availability.
  • Execute actions related to material mobilization, availability, or write-offs to optimize inventory and minimize scrap/waste.
  • Partner with stakeholders (Supply Planner, Scheduler, Project Manager) to develop safety stock and inventory plans that align with production needs.
  • Track, report, and ensure on-time material availability, including testing and release processes for production.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven ability to support supply chain inventory management and strategic initiatives.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; able to convey information clearly and concisely.
  • Analytical skills with experience in KPI reporting, metrics analysis, and root cause problem-solving.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint) with strong Excel skills.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence systems for data extraction and reporting.
  • Experience: 5–8 years in material planning, supply chain, or related fields.
