About the Role:

The Plant Senior Materials Manager is responsible for leading all materials-related functions including purchasing, inventory control, shipping, logistics, and storeroom operations. This role ensures the efficient flow of materials to support production, maintain inventory accuracy, meet customer delivery expectations, and achieve cost and performance objectives.

What You'll Do
  • Lead inventory management for raw materials, MRO inventory, and finished goods.
  • Oversee all shipping and logistics activities to ensure on-time customer deliveries.
  • Manage purchasing activities for plant operations and maintain strong supplier relationships.
  • Direct storeroom operations to ensure parts availability while controlling inventory costs.
  • Lead and develop purchasing and shipping team members.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across materials, inventory, and logistics processes.
  • Utilize ERP systems and reporting tools to improve visibility, planning, and performance.
  • Monitor key metrics including inventory accuracy, inventory turns, on-time delivery, freight costs, and supplier performance.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, environmental regulations, and safety standards.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, or related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in materials management, purchasing, supply chain, or logistics within a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous leadership experience managing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control, purchasing, shipping, and warehouse operations.
  • Experience using ERP systems and inventory management software.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
