What is a dns?

A DNS (Domain Name System) job typically involves managing and configuring DNS servers, ensuring proper domain resolution, and maintaining network stability. DNS professionals handle tasks such as setting up domain records (A, CNAME, MX, etc.), troubleshooting server issues, and optimizing performance. They play a critical role in ensuring websites, email services, and other internet-based systems function correctly. DNS administrators may work in IT departments, web hosting companies, or network security teams.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the dns position?

To thrive as a Director of Nursing Services (DNS), you typically need an active Registered Nurse (RN) license, a strong clinical background, and leadership experience in a healthcare setting. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, regulatory compliance platforms, and nursing management certifications are valuable assets. Strong interpersonal skills, conflict resolution abilities, and strategic thinking help DNS professionals coordinate teams and ensure high-quality patient care. These competencies are critical for navigating operational challenges, maintaining regulatory standards, and fostering positive work environments within healthcare facilities.

What are some common challenges a Director of Nursing Services may encounter in a healthcare facility?

As a Director of Nursing Services, you may face challenges such as staff recruitment and retention, staying up-to-date with changing healthcare regulations, and ensuring consistent, high-quality patient care across shifts. Balancing administrative duties with direct team support and addressing staff concerns promptly are also typical aspects of the role. You will often collaborate with physicians, administrators, and other healthcare professionals to develop policies and improve patient outcomes. Successfully navigating these challenges requires a proactive approach, strong leadership, and the ability to adapt to evolving healthcare demands.

Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior DNS Engineer with strong hands‑on expertise in DNS platforms and AWS cloud networking. The ideal candidate will have direct experience managing DNS at scale, automation through scripting, and working with enterprise DNS solutions such as Infoblox or BlueCat. This role requires practical, hands‑on DNS administration — not just API lookups — and the ability to clearly articulate specific contributions in prior implementations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer DNS platforms (Infoblox, BlueCat, Bind, PowerDNS, NSD, etc.).
  • Design, implement, and maintain authoritative DNS servers.
  • Handle DNS integration activities and migrations (Infoblox → BlueCat or other DNS migrations a plus).
  • Manage DNS at scale (hundreds to thousands of zones) using automation and scripting.
  • Implement DNS security principles and best practices.
  • Work with AWS networking services including Route 53, EC2, S3, PrivateLink, Direct Connect, and VPC networking.
  • Collaborate with SMEs and cross‑functional teams to deliver DNS solutions.
  • Participate in technical interviews and demonstrate hands‑on DNS knowledge.

Required Skills

  • DNS Administration – Hands‑on with Infoblox or BlueCat (current platforms).
  • AWS Cloud – Route 53 (must), EC2, S3, networking (PrivateLink, Direct Connect).
  • Scripting & Automation – Python or Ansible (must); other OO languages acceptable.
  • DNS at Scale – Managing hundreds/thousands of zones via automation.
  • Strong understanding of DNS protocols, DHCP, and DNS security principles.
  • Experience with DNS migrations (platform to platform) is a huge plus.
  • Ability to explain specific contributions and technical decisions clearly.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with authoritative DNS server setup (Bind, NSD, PowerDNS).
  • Exposure to GCP, OCI, or Azure DNS platforms (AWS preferred).
  • AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, Advanced Networking) beneficial.

Interview Process

  • 1‑hour Webex interview with panel (includes 2 SMEs).
  • Technical test required (hands‑on DNS focus).
