Job Description

Position               : DNS Engineer 

Location               : Plano, TX/McLean VA/Richmond VA Onsite

Duration              : Long term contract

 

What the team is doing is they want to put in place- NSD or Bind- they want to go to authoritative DNS Servers

  • Have to put Authoritative DNS Server in place- MUST
  • Ask candidates if they have done this-  shows they have hands on experience
  • Know difference between primary and secondary, how zones work

  

Currently using Infoblock , Blucat

  • One of these 2 works- any and everything with one of these 2 is KEY!!!!!
  • Bind, powernsc etc are examples of others
  • If someone has done an infoblock to Bluecat migration- or a DNS Specific Migration from A to B- HUGE PLUS- This is RARE BUT BIG CHERRY ON TOP

DNS integration Activities- Team focus


The role is about working on hundreds to low thousands of zones within DNS – have to do this through automation with Scripting                       

  • Scripting is a  MUST as they have a lot of Automation work – use of either  Python scripting or Ansible for Scripting  

 

AWS- MUST

Route 53- MUST – this is Key

  • General experience- EC2 and S3 examples of general experience
  • Privat link, direct connect examples- anything networking within AWS-MUST
