Position Purpose

The Service Operations Assistant supports front-end store operations by assisting with customer service, associate supervision, checkout performance, and daily execution of service-related programs. This position helps ensure an efficient, customer-focused environment while supporting productivity, operational compliance, and associate development. The Service Operations Assistant serves as a key leadership resource for front-end associates and assists in maintaining exceptional service standards throughout the store.

Key Responsibilities Service Operations
  • Support daily front-end operations, including checkout, customer service, and service desk functions.
  • Monitor customer traffic and assist with staffing adjustments to maintain service standards.
  • Help ensure efficient operation of registers, self-checkout areas, and customer service functions.
  • Support execution of company programs, promotions, and operational initiatives.
  • Assist in maintaining front-end organization, cleanliness, and readiness throughout the day.
Customer Service
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve customer concerns professionally.
  • Foster a welcoming, customer-focused culture among associates.
  • Assist customers with questions, transactions, returns, exchanges, and service issues.
  • Support efforts to improve customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Promote a positive shopping experience through friendly and responsive service.
Team Leadership
  • Assist with training, coaching, and developing front-end associates.
  • Provide daily direction and support to cashiers, courtesy clerks, and service personnel.
  • Reinforce company policies, procedures, and service expectations.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and associate engagement.
  • Assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Service Operations Manager.
Operational Excellence
  • Help ensure compliance with cash handling, register accountability, and loss prevention procedures.
  • Monitor front-end productivity and support operational improvements.
  • Assist with labor management and scheduling execution.
  • Support compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.
  • Help identify and resolve operational issues that impact service performance.
Safety and Compliance
  • Promote and maintain a safe environment for customers and associates.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and operational standards.
  • Assist with accident prevention and safety awareness initiatives.
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer and company information.
  • Report and address safety concerns promptly.
Qualifications Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous retail or customer service experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred
  • Previous supervisory, lead, or management experience.
  • Experience with front-end operations, cash handling, or customer service management.
