General Purpose Under general supervision, coordinates the development, review and approval of college curriculum; provides administrative and technical support to the Office of Instruction and Curriculum Committee; ensures class schedules are accurate and comply with state and District rules and regulations; prepares a variety of reports and performs quality assurance tasks associated with curriculum development at the college and District level; staffs committees; takes and posts agendas and minutes; and performs related duties as assigned. Essential Duties & Responsibilities The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. Provides information, instruction and training on work processes, coding, tracking, reporting and technical procedures to Instructional Administrative Assistants and to Curriuclum Analysts; develops and implements changes in processes, procedures and coding; provides group and one-on-one training opportunities.
Acts as a liaison to other colleges in the District regarding curriculum; oversees changes to District-wide course coding and taxonomy and provides technical assistance to other colleges in determining proper coding; makes recommendations to resolve issues of transferability of courses between colleges within the District and escalates them to Vice President of Instruction for final resolution. Aggregates, analyzes and audits class schedule reports from all instructional departments for the upcoming academic year and instructional periods using specialized class scheduling software; calculates all section contact hours; ensures accurate usage of funding codes and calculates departmental/program billing; coordinates with divisional deans to correct errors or conflicts. Audits full and adjunct faculty load reports; ensures loads are balanced and within maximum load hour equivalency (LHE) range; verifies non-instructional loads are entered and correctly coded; notifies division deans and assists in resolution of load calculation issues and non-compliance with bargaining agreements and the California Education Code; verifies accuracy of faculty payroll reports.

Assists the Curriculum Committee Chair with coordination of course review and course outlines for regular annual review; tracks completion of review processes and updates information in the course curriculum database; summarizes changes in curriculum approved by the Curriculum Committee and creates curriculum packets for the Educational Coordination and Planning Committee; submits recommended changes to the Board of Trustees for final approval.
Coordinates the development of curriculum process timelines across the District; provides information and assistance to Curriuclum Analysts, faculty, staff and administrators regarding timelines, policies and procedures related to curriculum development including the California Community College System Office requirements for course and certificate/degree development, course outline reviews, prerequisite validation, course repeatability, unit value and cross listing; researches requirements and supplemental information as needed. Provides technical training, support and assistance to deans and faculty regarding the preparation of curriculum documents; explains requirements and assists with research, development and submission of documents for new degree programs and certificates of achievement; ensures courses and programs are compliant prior to submission. Coordinates, develops and publishes the production calendar for building the course catalog; audits class schedule reports and ensures accuracy of all section hours; coordinates the review and update of policy sections, course descriptions and draft catalog with appropriate departments; reviews and approves catalog for production and distribution.
Serves as an advanced functional expert for curriculum management software programs and modules; tests and reviews systems upgrades; transfers and reconciles data between software programs; uploads data to the State Chancellor's Office, the California Community College System Office, accrediting bodies and other organizations as needed; sets up user permissions in various databases. Demonstrates sensitivity to and understanding of historically minoritized groups and participates in professional development activities to increase cultural competency to enhance equity-minded practices within the District.
