Position Summary

The Culinary Services Department is committed to providing safe, nutritious, high-quality meals that promote health, dignity, and an exceptional dining experience for every Villager.

The Culinary Operations Aide supports the preparation, service, and delivery of meals while helping maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment. Working closely with the Culinary Services team, this position plays an important role in ensuring every meal is served safely, accurately, and with care.


What You'll Do

Support Meal Preparation & Service

  • Assist with preparing, portioning, and serving meals in accordance with approved menus, therapeutic diet requirements, and portion standards.
  • Ensure meals are served accurately, safely, and on schedule.
  • Support meal service for special events and organizational functions as assigned.

Maintain Kitchen Excellence

  • Maintain clean, organized, and inspection-ready kitchens, storage areas, dining areas, and satellite kitchens.
  • Assist with stocking, storing, rotating, and labeling food and supplies according to established procedures.
  • Support waste reduction efforts through proper food handling and storage practices.

Promote Food Safety & Quality

  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, infection prevention, allergen management, and regulatory requirements.
  • Complete assigned cleaning responsibilities and required operational documentation.
  • Utilize Annandale Village's Nutrition Management System to support daily operations.

Support the Team

  • Work collaboratively with the Culinary Services team to ensure efficient meal production and service.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and respect in every interaction.
  • Deliver courteous, compassionate service that supports a positive dining experience for Villagers, families, visitors, and fellow employees.
  • Support Annandale Village's mission and perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to prepare, portion, and serve balanced meals while following written and verbal instructions.
  • Knowledge of therapeutic diets and modified texture diets.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety and sanitation.
  • ServSafe Certification or the ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Ability to become proficient with Annandale Village's Nutrition Management System.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in food service, healthcare, senior living, residential care, or institutional dining.
  • Experience working with therapeutic diets and person-centered meal service.

Physical Requirements

  • Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Frequently bend, reach, lift, push, and pull.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds and safely operate kitchen equipment.
  • Work safely in varying kitchen temperatures.
