Creative Design Manager
General Description:
Drive design execution for Corporate Development Department’s creative needs and marketing partnership performance efforts across full Departmental scope, in line with organizational brand standards and guidelines, including local, national and global approaches for the Houston Rockets, Houston Comets and Clutch City Sports amp; Entertainment.
RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
  • Create and develop outside sales proposals and recap decks, using Adobe Creative Cloud amp; PowerPoint to visualize a partnership that reflects the goals and values of both the Rockets and the prospect/client
  • Will work with sales team members to brainstorm and concept proposals/assets that align with the client’s and/or prospect’s goals, building cohesive packages that create value for the partner and drive revenue for the organization
  • Liaison to any outside agencies for project management and cohesion of Department needs.
  • Translate ideas into comprehensive visual and storytelling packages for platform selling
  • Assist with overall creation of partnership recaps, compiling photos and presenting relevant data throughout the season and building graphics that convey the efficacy of our partnerships
  • Department liaison to Graphics Department to acquire updated creative and approved photos for department and client usage
  • Work with Business Intelligence Department to maintain up-to-date sponsorship asset valuations, television ratings, social followers, radio listeners, impression numbers, internal data and any other relevant figures that illustrate the reach and power of the Houston Rockets amp; Comets brands
  • Create proposals that can be effectively and efficiently translated then presented to potential clients in China, visualizing relevant data for Tencent, CCTV5 and Weibo
  • Manage department creative asset library and Group Player Marketing Rights imagery for mock-ups, client usage, thought starters and proposal decks, case studies and partner recaps
  • Build signage for partners, including TV Visible LED, LED Panels, Fixed Fascia, TV Backdrops, L-Bars and Fixed Concourse Signage
  • Create official department communications, including invitations for any partner-related events, letters and graphics
  • Work with Marketing amp; Video Departments to create sales sizzle/hype video(s) and partner recap video story and concept materials
  • Create Partner Toolkit and Onboarding materials, which will be sent out to all partners at beginning of season and then updated on a yearly basis
  • Regularly audit, refine, and retire outdated content to ensure only the highest quality materials are in circulation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate’s degree or higher – Graphic design, visual communications or related area
  • Minimum 3-5+ years in creative role, with leadership or managerial background a plus
  • Portfolio – a demonstrated portfolio showcasing high-quality creative projects and brand development
  • Experience with gathering and documenting business requirements.
  • Proven experience developing sales/marketing collateral, presentations, digital graphics, and branded assets across multiple platforms.
  • Experience working within a corporate brand or with brand guidelines, particularly in a fast-paced or client-facing environment.
  • Strong proficiency with Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Ceros, PowerPoint, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Organizational skills, with the ability to set priorities, problem solve, think strategically, multi-task, pay attention to detail, and meet tight deadlines
  • Must be able to multi-task with great attention to detail.
  • Must be extremely flexible with the ability to handle fast-paced environment with short deadlines.
  • Must be available to work extended hours and select game nights.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, use handle or feel, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, communicate with others.
  • The vision requirement includes the ability to review written and electronic materials in both digital and physical format.
  • The employee must be able to transfer and move items for departmental needs.
  • The employee must be able to adjust to changing work hours and locations as needed in light of the strong focus on external communications and relationships.
