Job description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Accountant specializing in Deltek Costpoint to join our accounting team. The successful candidate will assist the Controller in preparing the monthly financial statements accurately and on time while overseeing the ongoing implementation of our Deltek Costpoint ERP system. While we have used Deltek Costpoint for several years, we are committed to continuous improvement and maximizing the system's capabilities.
Key Responsibilities

  • Configure and manage various day-to-day operations of Deltek Costpoint modules including Project Accounting, Time & Expense, Contract Management, Procurement, Subcontractor Management, and Business Intelligence.
  • Possess a core understanding of accounting principles, project cost accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, invoicing, bank reconciliations, financial statement reconciliations, payroll, and expense and time collection tracking.
  • Work with team members to maintain records of financial transactions, ensure legal compliance, create, and track invoices to clients, and review accurate and timely computation and payment of payroll and expenses.
  • Work together with Delivery Leads and other team members to understand project management needs and develop solutions utilizing the software's features.
  • Document system configurations, processes, and procedures for knowledge transfer and accurate record keeping.
  • Provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, and resolve system-related problems promptly.
  • Develop and deliver training materials and workshops to educate team members on Deltek software functionality and best practices.
  • Stay updated on Deltek product updates, patches, and new features, evaluating their potential impact, and recommending appropriate actions.
  • Identify companion software and applications to enhance project management, data sharing, and reporting processes.
  • Interface with our Deltek consulting partner as necessary with the goal of becoming more independent and self-reliant.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with Deltek Costpoint Time & Expense and Project Accounting.
  • Experience with Government contracting, nonprofit, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Knowledge of Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) compliance (required).
  • Up to 7 years of experience in financial consulting or accounting.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent customer service, team management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to work remotely with flexible hours to support the team.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Paylocity and/or Bill.com
