Job description

Machine Operator

Bema, Incorporated, a recognized leading supplier to the flexible packaging industry; is looking for a Machine Operator to operate a pouch and/or bag machines with a proven track record in supporting a fast-paced organization. Bema encourages innovation from its associates, employs the latest technology and has aggressive expansion plans.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure personal compliance with all AIB, quality, company policies and procedures, including safety and housekeeping procedures.
  • Read job specifications and previous run data (if available) to determine machine adjustments and material requirements. Ensures job is in order prior to machine set-up.
  • Observes machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction. Makes corrections to alleviate out of specification product.
  • Performs minor machine maintenance such as changing zipper, dies, seal bars and punches.
  • Completes required documentation accurately and timely.
  • Meets or exceeds job standards for line speeds, scrap and set-up times.
  • Other duties as assigned by management and supervisors.
