Job Description
Position: Control Room Operator
Site: Center of Excellence
Location: Bolingbrook, IL
Position Overview
As a Control Room Operator, you will be responsible for the remote monitoring, operation, and real-time analysis of Invenergy's fleet of wind, solar, and battery storage facilities. This position will be located at Invenergy's Center of Excellence facility in Bolingbrook, IL.
Responsibilities
  • Remotely monitor and operate wind, solar, and battery storage generation facilities and related plant equipment
  • Promptly address turbine and inverter faults
  • Manage balance of plant controls and ensure reliable facility operations: power/curtailments, voltage, reactive power, and other controls as needed
  • Respond to critical alarms and situations
  • Communicate and coordinate with site technicians, customers, grid operators, and third-parties
  • Maintain accurate logs of communications
  • Analyze data and trends, troubleshoot and diagnose issues and escalate matters to appropriate personnel
  • Monitor weather at sites for safety of on-site technicians, personnel, and equipment
  • Work independently or collaboratively on projects and initiatives that enhance the operations and reliability of the control center

Required Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in a course of study that demonstrates strong analytical and technical skills Or 2 years of relevant experience Or military service experience in positions that require communication and analytical and decision-making skills
  • Must be able to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience with SCADA systems, preferably focused on wind or solar operations
  • Experience with data monitoring software such as PI
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Data analysis
  • Strong problem solving, critical thinking, and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills

Base Pay
$35.71 - $50.51 USD Hourly
Bonus: 15%
The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education and skills.
