Job description

Rocha Controls is a full-service company specializing in supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, computer networks, programmable logic controller (PLC) systems, telemetry, instrumentation, and variable frequency drive and motor control center installations. We are seeking a self-motivated and effective Control Panel Shop Technician.Key ResponsibilitiesConstruct industrial control panels, including layout, drilling, tapping, and mounting of devicesRead and interpret electrical schematics to accurately wire componentsPerform field equipment wiring, including conduit installation, wire pulling, and device terminationsSupport functional testing of equipment by working with programmers and QC to verify system performanceParticipate in manufacturing checkouts and customer factory acceptance tests (FATs)Apply knowledge of control protocols such as I/O Link, Ethernet/IP, and other industrial communication standardsEnsure all work meets company and industry quality standards and compliance with UL standards.Engage with external customers during shop tests or reviews as neededAssist with inventory cycle counts and keep materials well-organized and labeledIdentify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to quality, and safety initiativesPreferred QualificationsAssociate's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience in control panel buildingStrong ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagramsProficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic instrumentsExperience with single-phase and three-phase electrical systemsFamiliarity with industrial PLCs and operator interface terminal (OIT) programming is a plus
