Job description

Description:Join ENTEK as a Panel Shop Supervisor
ENTEK is excited to welcome a Panelo Shop Supervisor to our manufacturing team. If you’re passionate about leadership, craftsmanship, and building high-quality industrial control panels in a well-run, professional environment, this could be your next great move. This is an opportunity to lead a skilled panel shop team, work with detailed engineering designs, and ensure every panel leaving the shop meets the highest standards for quality, safety, and UL compliance.
What You’ll DoAs the Panel Shop Supervisor, you’ll lead and support a team of panel builders, wiremen, and assemblers—typically 5 to 10 direct reports—while keeping production running smoothly and on schedule. You’ll be hands-on with daily operations, assigning work, monitoring progress, and providing coaching to help your team succeed. You’ll oversee the production of both custom and production-run industrial control panels, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and on-time delivery. You’ll also play a key role in maintaining UL 508A compliance, serving as (or closely supporting) the designated UL 508A Manufacturer Technical Representative (MTR). From component selection and SCCR calculations to enclosure ratings, labeling, and documentation, your expertise will help keep our panels audit-ready and built right the first time.

How You’ll Make an Impact

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and supervise the panel shop team to meet daily production goals
  • Assign work, prioritize jobs, and manage workflow to minimize downtime
  • Review engineering drawings, schematics, and customer specifications to plan builds
  • Ensure compliance with UL 508A standards and internal quality requirements
  • Oversee proper component selection, wiring methods, spacing, grounding, and labeling
  • Maintain accurate documentation including BOMs, schematics, red-lines, and UL files
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and quality teams to resolve design or material issues
  • Train, coach, and evaluate employees while supporting continuous improvement

Quality Assurance & Inspection

Quality is at the core of everything we build. You’ll:

  • Perform or oversee in-process and final inspections for workmanship, wiring accuracy, and UL conformance
  • Troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions
  • Prepare panels for UL field inspections and respond to auditor findings
  • Drive continuous improvement in panel build processes
Requirements:

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience building and/or supervising the fabrication of industrial control panels in a UL 508A certified shop.
  • Strong working knowledge of UL 508A standard (including SCCR, component acceptance, wiring, spacing, and labeling requirements).
  • Proven supervisory or lead experience in a manufacturing/assembly environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, panel layouts, and P&IDs.
  • Familiarity with common control components (PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, relays, motor controls, power distribution, etc.).
  • Proficiency with hand/power tools, wire crimping, routing, and panel assembly techniques.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • UL 508A Manufacturer Technical Representative (MTR) certification or willingness to obtain/pass the exam.
  • Experience with additional certifications (e.g., UL 698A for hazardous locations, NFPA 79).
  • Knowledge of Lean/5S manufacturing principles.
