JOB TITLE: Panel Shop Controls Technician
DEPARTMENT: Panel Shop
REPORTS TO: Panel Shop Manager

JOB SUMMARY: As a Panel Shop Controls Technician at LogistiQ, you will be a part of our Operations team in the panel shop. This person will assist in the testing, evaluation, and specification of new or existing company products. Individuals in this position will work virtually in a CAD, Drawing in ERP environment as well with their hands in a testing or production environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES amp; RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
  • Write, debug, or modify PLC, HMI, PC and other control programs using various software.
  • Create owner’s manuals, test procedures, and other engineering deliverables as required.
  • Provide technical support to shop personnel during manufacturing.
  • Conduct testing and evaluation of both new products and production products as needed.
  • Develop, document, and conduct training for testing protocols suitable for production environments.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and assist with quality inspections and processes for all products.
  • Collaborate with Controls Engineering, Process Engineering, and manufacturing production departments.
  • Other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • No direct supervisory responsibilities. May be required to provide technical guidance to peers or manufacturing production employees from time to time.
TRAVEL DEMANDS:
  • May require occasional travel.
QUALIFICATIONS amp; REQUIREMENTS:
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 70 National Electrical Code, and NFPA 79 Electrical Standard for Industrial Machinery.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical control circuits.
  • Capable of working independently to accomplish many tasks and often take technical direction from Controls Engineers and managers alike.
  • Able to pass pre-employment math test.
  • Able to proficiently use measuring equipment preferred.
  • Able to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Understanding of production processes.
  • Basic reading and writing skills in the English language.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division). Able to convert decimals to fractions and fractions to decimals. Proficient in algebra and geometry related to engineering.
  • Basic data entry skills including how to print documents. Proficient with 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks. Proficient with AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Electrical. Proficient with Microsoft Excel. Proficient with RS 5000.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Successful completion of 90-day probationary period.
EDUCATION amp; EXPERIENCE:
  • An associate’s degree in electrical engineering field is preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
  • Minimum of one-year relative experience required.
