Machine Wiring & Panel Builder

Shift: First Shift (Standard Business Hours)

Salary: $24 - $32 per hour (Commensurate with experience)

Machine Wiring & Panel Builder Role

The Machine Wiring & Panel Builder assembles and wires complex electrical control panels and integrates them into custom-built machinery. This role is essential for ensuring that all hydraulic and mechanical systems are powered and controlled accurately according to engineering specifications.

Machine Wiring & Panel Builder Responsibilities

  • Wire electrical control panels and sub-assemblies based on technical schematics and blueprints
  • Mount components such as PLC modules, relays, transformers, and terminal blocks into enclosures
  • Route and land wires neatly to ensure organized and functional internal panel layouts
  • Install and wire field devices on industrial machinery, including sensors, motors, and valves
  • Support the integration of basic hydraulic systems within custom machine builds
  • Perform point-to-point continuity testing to verify wiring accuracy and electrical integrity
  • Troubleshoot electrical circuits during the initial power-up and testing phases of production
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation in a fast-paced custom job shop environment

Machine Wiring Panel Builder Reporting Relationships

This position reports directly to the Production Manager. This role does not have any direct reports.

  • Possess strong experience in electrical panel building and point-to-point wiring
  • Demonstrate proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and ladder logic
  • Have hands-on experience working with hydraulic machine components and basic fluid power systems
  • Display familiarity with custom fabrication and "one-off" machine building processes
  • Utilize manual hand tools and power tools effectively for mechanical assembly tasks
  • Ability to bend conduit and hydraulic tubing
  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure safety and precision in wiring
  • Work effectively within a team-oriented job shop setting to meet project deadlines
  • Show a proactive approach to solving technical challenges during the assembly phase
