Job Summary:

Butler Supply is seeking a UL 508A Panel Shop Technician to join our team at Hannan Supply. This role involves assembling, wiring, and testing electrical control panels in compliance with UL 508A standards. The ideal candidate has experience in industrial control panel assembly, is detail-oriented, and understands electrical schematics and wiring practices.


Requirements:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Control Panel Assembly: Build and wire UL 508A-compliant control panels per engineering specifications and electrical schematics
  • Component Installation: Mount electrical components such as relays, circuit breakers, PLCs, VFDs, and transformers within control enclosures.
  • Wiring & Termination: Properly route, strip, and connect wires using appropriate crimping and labeling techniques.
  • Testing & Troubleshooting: Perform continuity checks, point-to-point wiring verification, and functional testing to ensure compliance with UL 508A standards.
  • Blueprint & Schematic Interpretation: Read and follow electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and work instructions.
  • Quality Control & Safety: Ensure all work meets company and UL 508A safety requirements. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Follow UL 508A standards and document panel configurations, modifications, and test results.
  • Collaboration: Work with engineers and production teams to resolve design or wiring issues.


Qualifications & Requirements:

Experience: Minimum 2+ years of experience in electrical control panel assembly. UL 508A shop

experience preferred.

Strong attention to detail.

Strong numerical aptitude


Physical Requirements:

Regularly required to stand, sit, walk; use hands and arms to finger, handle, feel, reach or carry.

Occasionally required climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Must be able to safely tolerate heat in the summer and cold in the winter.

Regularly required to talk and hear; read, and identify numbers

Regularly required to apply sound reasoning and logic in performing daily tasks.
