En tant que rédacteur(trice) technique, vous faites partie de l’équipe Unified Content Services, qui a pour vocation d’aider les clients à devenir autonomes, et de diminuer le nombre d’appels à l’assistance clientèle. Pour assurer le succès de nos clients, vous devez anticiper leurs questions, et créer du contenu à la fois fiable et facile à trouver. 

Vous interagissez avec des intervenants à tous les niveaux de l’organisation, et plus particulièrement avec les développeurs, l’assistance clientèle, le marketing et la formation. Il s’agit d’un poste hautement collaboratif qui exige à la fois de la créativité et le souci du détail.

À quoi ressemblera votre journée :

  • Comprendre des notions techniques complexes en testant des logiciels et en menant des entretiens avec les développeurs, les ingénieurs commerciaux et les agents d’assistance technique
  • Collaborer avec les responsables de produits afin de rendre nos offres plus simples à utiliser, et réduire la dépendance sur une documentation exhaustive
  • Travailler en équipe, rédiger dans un style accessible, et collaborer avec les créateurs de contenu dans toute l’organisation pour élaborer et documenter les consignes relatives aux contenus
  • Recueillir et intégrer les commentaires de clients internes et externes
  • Spécifier, concevoir et créer du contenu (textes, graphiques, vidéos), à la fois pour des publics techniqueset non techniques
  • Créer et actualiser d’autres supports pédagogiques, comme des illustrations techniques

Pour en connaitre plus sur vous :

  • Vous aimez les environnements où les choses vont vite, et vous savez prendre des décisions
  • Vous justifiez d’une expérience passée dans la communication d’informations techniques complexes auprès de différents publics (débutants, niveau intermédiaire et niveau avancé), au format texte, graphique ou vidéo
  • Capacité à planifier, hiérarchiser et mener à bien différents types de tâches, avec une grande autonomie, et en produisant systématiquement du contenu d’excellente qualité
  • Excellentes aptitudes pour mener des entretiens, et pour communiquer avec tout un éventail d’intervenants et d’experts métier
  • Excellente maîtrise des méthodes, tendances et technologies de rédaction technique, comme la rédaction structurée, DITA, l’exploitation d’une source unique, la réutilisation des données, etc.)
  • Maîtrise du français et de l'anglais, tant à l'oral qu'à l'écrit (ce poste nécessite des interactions avec nos collaborateurs et clients internationaux)

Your team’s dynamic:

As a Technical Writer, you will be part of the Unified Content Services team. Unified Content Services is dedicated to helping customers be self-sufficient and reducing calls to customer support. To ensure that our customers are successful, you will need to anticipate the questions that they will ask and create content that is accurate and easy to find.

You will interact with all the levels of the organization, but more closely with developers, customer support, marketing, and training. This is a highly collaborative position that requires creativity and attention to detail.

You will be given coaching and guidance to succeed at your work. Onboarding is provided with training about our products, as well as training on tools and processes used -- such as Kanban and DITA. Unified Content Services is a supportive group where innovation and ideas are welcomed and encouraged. We want you to be challenged and thrive!

What your day will look like:

  • Grasp complex technical concepts by experimenting with software and interviewing developers, sales engineers, and technical support teams
  • Work with product groups to make our products easier to use, thereby reducing the need for extensive documentation
  • Work as part of a team, writing in a common style, and work with content creators across the organization to develop and document content guidelines
  • Gather and incorporate feedback from internal and external customers.
  • Define, design, and create content (text, charts, graphics, videos) for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Create and maintain other learning aids such as technical illustrations

More about you:

  • Thrive in fast paced environment and comfortable making decisions
  • Proven track record in communicating complex technical information to different types of audiences (beginners, intermediate, and advanced) through text, visuals, or video
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and deliver a variety of tasks with limited guidance and consistently of high quality
  • Excellent interviewing skills and comfortable communicating with a variety of stakeholders and subject matter experts
  • Excellent knowledge of technical writing methods, trends, and technologies, such as structured authoring, DITA, single sourcing, reuse, and so on
  • Fluent in French and English, both verbal and written (this role requires interaction with our international collaborators and customers)

Great if you have:

  • Knowledge of oXygen or XML-based authoring tools
  • Knowledge of video editing tools (Captivate, Camtasia, and so on)
  • Portfolio of your work (text, visuals, and video)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Computer Sciences, Computer Engineering, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
