Job description

As a leading fabrication shop in Central Oregon, we are dedicated to delivering quality products that support and strengthen our communities. Our teams consistently bring their "A" game to every project.

The Laser Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC laser cutting equipment to produce high-quality parts according to specifications. This role supports production goals by ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to safety standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

These essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines
  • Load/unload raw materials
  • Read and interpret blueprints, job travelers, and work orders
  • Adjust machine settings for optimal cutting
  • Perform first-piece and in-process inspections
  • Deburr, clean, or prep parts as needed
  • Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot minor issues
  • Perform routine maintenance
  • Maintain production logs and documentation
  • Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements
  • Coordinate with programmers, supervisors and other departments

Qualifications & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED (technical training is a plus)
  • 1-3+ years of CNC or laser cutting experience
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control
  • Experience with sheet metal fabrication
  • Familiarity with CNC controls
  • Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Shop/manufacturing environment
  • Ability to stand for long periods on concrete floors
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Bend, squat, twist, and reach while loading/unloading laser tables
  • Exposure to noise, dust, and industrial environments
  • Use hands and arms in moderately strenuous tasks
