Job description

Consistently ranking among American Banker magazine's "Best Banks to Work For" for over a decade, Zions Bancorporation is a "Collection of Great Banks" with local brand names and management teams in each of our major Western markets.ย

And because we'veย known that, for over 150 years, our success has come from the exceptional dedication,ย experienceย and talent of our diverse employee base,ย we'reย committed to being the premier employer of choice.ย

Ready to make your mark on a legacy brand?ย

Our expanding marketing team is building something special-a dynamic, in-house Creative Studio and innovative Demand Center that will transform how we connect with customers. Under fresh leadership from our newly appointed CMO,ย we'reย reimagining what marketing can be while supporting a bank known for its experienced bankers, exceptional service, and local leadership deeply rooted in the communities we serve. Thisย isn'tย just another financial marketing role -ย it'sย your chance to shape a creative vision with real impact.ย

With benefits starting on day one, 12 bank holidays, profit sharing and company-matched 401(k) contributions, Zions is committed to career growth and advancement. At Zions, the possibilities are endless.ย If you're ready to create work that actually matters, we're ready to review your application.ย

You bring the talent; we bring the opportunity.ย

About the Roleย

Our in-houseย Creativeย Studio produces a high volume of marketing and communications assets across digital, print, paid, and earned media - and we hold every word, every pixel, and every link to the same standard we hold our brand.ย We'reย looking for a meticulous Proofreaderย andย Copy Editor who takes genuine pride in getting it right before anything goes out the door.ย

This role sits at the intersection of language, compliance, and digital quality - and the right person will be as comfortable marking up a print brochure as they are clicking through a landing page to confirm every buttonย routesย where it should.ย

What You'll Doย

Proofreadingย andย Copy Editingย

  • Review and edit all studio-produced assets for grammar, spelling, punctuation, style consistency, and brand voice across print, digital, paid media, social, and earned media formatsย

  • Apply and uphold brand style guidelines and editorial standards across all collateralย

  • Partner with designers, copywriters, and project managers to flag issues early and turn edits around withinย Creative Studio timelinesย

  • Maintain and evolve internal proofreading checklists and style references as brand standards developย

Regulatoryย andย Compliance Reviewย

  • Work against established regulatory checklists to ensure all marketing collateral meets compliance requirements prior to submissionย

  • Identifyย and flag discrepancies - missing disclosures, incorrect legal language, unapproved claims - and partner with theย Creative Studio teamย to resolve themย

  • Track revisions through the compliance review process and ensure final approved versions are reflected accurately in production filesย

  • Stay current on relevant regulatory guidelines as they evolve within the financial services spaceย

Digital QAย

  • Conduct pre-launch quality assurance on digital assets including emails, landing pages, digital ads, and web contentย

  • Test all links, CTAs, buttons, and interactive elements to confirm functionality, correct routing, and consistent behavior across devices and browsersย

  • Verifyย URL query strings,ย tracking tags, and destination URLs against campaign briefsย

  • Document and communicate QA findings clearly so issues can be resolved before go-liveย

What You Bringย

  • Aย bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, English, or a related field withย 3-5+ย years of proofreading and copy-editing experience, ideally within financial services, a regulated industry, or a high-volume in-house or agency environmentย

  • A sharp editorial eye and genuine comfort with style guides, legal language, and disclosure copyย

  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance review processes in a financial services or similarly regulated context - or the demonstrated ability to quickly learn and rigorously apply a compliance frameworkย

  • Experience performing digital QA, including link testing, CTA verification, and cross-device/browser reviewย

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple assets in various stages of review simultaneouslyย

  • A collaborative, low-ego approach - this role is a critical quality gate, and the best person for it understands that getting it right matters more than being rightย

Nice to Haveย

  • Experience with project management or creative workflow tools (Workfrontย or similar)ย

  • Familiarity with HTML basics or the ability to read source code to verify tracking parametersย

  • Prior experience working within a financial services in-house studio or marketing teamย

  • Knowledge of FINRAย andย FDIC regulatory frameworksย

This is an in-office position that will sit at our downtown Salt Lake City offices. This is not a hybrid role.ย

Salary Range:ย This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $60,000 to $80,000 annually depending on job-related factors such as level of experience and location.

Benefits:ย ย ย

  • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance - START DAY ONE!ย ย ย ย

  • Life and Disability Insurance, Paid Parental Leave and Adoption Assistanceย ย ย

  • Health Savings (HSA), Flexible Spending (FSA)ย and dependent care accountsย ย

  • Paid Training, Paid Time Off (PTO) and 11 Paid Federal Holidays, and any applicable state holidaysย ย

  • 401(k) plan with company match, Profit Sharing, competitive compensation in line with work experienceย ย ย

  • Mental health benefits including coaching and therapy sessionsย ย

  • Tuition Reimbursement for qualifying employees enrolled in an accredited degree program related to the needs of the business, maximum of $5,250 per calendar year, employees are eligible for the program upon hireย

  • Employee Ambassador preferred banking productsย
