Job description

CrossCountry Mortgage (CCM) is the nation's number one distributed retail mortgage lender with more than 9,000 employees operating over 700 branches and servicing loans across all 50 states, D.C. and Puerto Rico. Our company has been recognized ten times on the Inc. 5000 list of America's fastest-growing private businesses and has received many awards for our standout culture.
A culture where you can grow! CCM has created an exceptional culture driving employee engagement, exceeding employee expectations, and directly impacting company success. At our core, our entrepreneurial spirit empowers every employee to be who they are to help us move forward together. You'll get unwavering support from all departments and total transparency from the top down.
CCM offers eligible employees a competitive compensation plan and a robust benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, as well as a 401K. We also offer company-provided short-term disability, an employee assistance program, and a wellness program.
Position Overview:
This role is perfect for a writer who's eager to sharpen their craft alongside a team of seasoned pros. You'll support our more experienced writers, jump into real projects from day one and soak up everything you can along the way.
You'll also work closely with our proofreader, helping keep projects moving with a sharp eye for detail, consistency and quality. It's a chance to learn not just what makes great copy work, but what makes it sing.
Around here, we're not interested in writing mortgage copy that sounds like mortgage copy. We're looking for someone who's curious, collaborative and excited to help us find fresh ways to make home financing feel more human, more approachable and maybe even a little fun.
You'll learn the ropes, contribute ideas and grow your skills while helping us turn a complex industry into content people actually want to read.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Write and edit marketing content for loan officers across a variety of channels, including email, social media, direct mail, video, and internet.
  • Tailor messaging to different audiences, platforms and objectives while keeping it clear, engaging and on brand.
  • Assist in maintaining and evolving our brand voice across every touchpoint.
  • Translate complex mortgage and financial products and programs into consumer-friendly language without sacrificing accuracy.
  • Assist with creating and refining presentations, sales materials, and other business communications.
  • Collaborate with writers, designers, and marketers to bring campaigns and creative ideas to life that support campaign goals and business objectives.
  • Partner with the proofreader to help keep projects moving and ensure every piece of content is polished and accurate.
  • Review creative assets for grammar, spelling, punctuation, style consistency, tone, and clarity.
  • Verify facts, dates, names, disclosures, and product information before publication.
  • Conduct final quality checks across print, digital, video, broadcast, presentations, and event materials.
  • Collaborate closely with designers, production teams, and stakeholders to identify and resolve content issues before launch.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related discipline, preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in copywriting, content marketing, proofreading, editing or a related field.
  • Experience in a regulated industry such as financial services, healthcare, or insurance, preferred.
  • Experience in an in-house marketing department or agency environment, preferred.
  • Experience with a variety of marketing channels, including digital, social, email, events, and integrated campaigns, preferred.
  • A portfolio or writing examples that demonstrate versatility, creativity, and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with AP Style and other editorial best practices, preferred.
  • Knowledge of proofreading, quality control, and creative review processes.
  • Exceptional writing, grammar, proofreading and editing skills.
  • Skill in balancing multiple projects and deadlines in a collaborative environment.
  • Familiarity with content management systems, email marketing platforms, and project management tools.
  • Ability to work effectively in Microsoft 365 and learn new tools and platforms as needed.
