Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. This role emphasizes patient and employee safety, making it a priority throughout all levels of care.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission to create an individualized care plan.
  • Identify patient teaching needs and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for effective care.
  • Provide timely updates regarding patient information and status during team conferences.
  • Participate in the patient rehabilitation program while focusing on education for patients and families.
  • Initiate discharge planning on admission and begin patient teaching preemptively.
  • Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care and safety.
  • Supervise and train nursing ancillary personnel, promoting teamwork and problem-solving.
  • Ensure personal and environmental safety in alignment with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Maintain effective communication with managers and nursing staff regarding service needs.
  • Assume charge responsibility when requested and engage in ongoing professional development.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
  • ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (CIRH only).
  • Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience required.
